Why subscribe to a Forum? The Silver Ring?

What are the advantages of subscribing to a Forum versus subscibing to a thread?

Also, why does some people have a Silver RIng next to their Avatar? (picture).

Last question: Where's that chapter "Title" that people say changes as the number of posts increase? Where do I go to see mine?

Hey ya Halfling.....

a) Subscribing to a forum would send you emails for every new thread and every new post for every thread within that forum. Subscribing to a thread will would only send emails regarding new posts within that particular thread.

b) The Silver ring represents folks who have subscribed to WotR at the Silver Subscriber level (which is all we have available at the moment) and you can read all about the Subscription program here (http://www.warofthering.net/subscribers/subscription.shtml).

c) You can find your current title directly below your name. At the moment, you are at one of the first chapters in the books 'A Long-expected Party', and as your post counts increase your title will change to reflect all the chapters in all three books, and as your title changes, avatars that are directly related to that chapter will also become available to you.

Actaully Illu...I've been meaning to say something about it, but I've keep forgetting.


I don't think the Forum subscription is working. Because I subscribed to the RP forum and I only get updates from the separate threads I subscribe to.

Maybe you could check into it and see if anythings wrong?

Not trying to be mean, but how long shall I wait before I inquire
again about the Silver Status? I am only concerned that there may be something wrong with my activation process. I want to make sure WOTR got my $.:blush:
I subcribed on April 17th and did receive a "Thank you for subscribing" letter. I hope this helps.

Oh jeez Halfling!! I'm sorry.....

But if you got a letter then your moneys were received!!!

We've had a few folks slip through the cracks as they did not include their forum username on the form. See when the letters are sent out, I am forwarded the information that's on the form. If there is a forum username specified, then I award the Silver Ring and switch your profile to Silver Subscriber. If a username is NOT specified, then I just file the form.

Please send me a PM with your real name and email that was included on the subscription form, I will find the form, and update you straight away.
