I live in Ohio. Just wondering if anyone knows when TTT will hit the dollar theatres? It's been out of the regular theatres for about a month or so now. I need a LOTR fix.

Can't say anything about Ohio, but Arizona has TTT playing. It is only in a very small number of theaters out here. You may just have to do some searching and hunting to find which one in your area is showing it.

Same with my area (Midwest). It's at one $ theater, but the sound is so bad, and the screen is small. It's really inferior to the major theaters. I've only gone there once.

It's been out here in Florida for at least four weeks (possibly more), and in Kentucky it's been out for at least a month (I went to go see it on 4-3-03... i have the ticket stub).
Those who have seen it recently in the dollar theater, have they attatched the ROTK trailer yet? They did that with TTT trailer.... maybe I should take another trip to the theater....

NO! And I hear they are not going to. But ya never know. If anyone hears, let us all know, and then I'll go back lots of times.

Yow, I see now that TTT is only playing on the weekend, or else 30 miles away.
But also, our newspaper had this little synopsis to go with the TTT theater listings, which I thought was rather generous of them:
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Drama | 2:59 | PG-13
There seems little doubt now that by the time it's finished, Peter Jackson's "Rings" trilogy will rank as one the great achievements in serial storytelling ever mounted by Hollywood.

We have TTT out in a dollar theatre right now. I tried to go, but it is closed during the weekdays! verymad
It was only a dollar too! But a bit of a rip-off for how good a movie it is... ;)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Since I live practically on the opposite side of USA the best I can say is we have TTT playing out here.

Rock- I think there's a dollar theatre north in Westerville. I know there's one in Delaware....depending on where you are in Columbus (my family lives in Delaware)

No dollar theatres here (Southeast). TT left the theatres here I'll guess about mid-March. Such a shame. Now I have to wait till August. :(

I live outside of Cleveland, if you lived here ( or wanted to travel this far, LOL) it is showing at 2 different dollar theaters here (actually $3.50, but worth every penny, isn't it?) I am going again on Friday, dragging my sis with me, she's never seen it, can you imagine?;)

Celebrian,
Have you checked nearby larger cities? The city I actually live in is not showing TTT but neighboring city of Phoenix has it at 2 different theaters. Maybe you can find it somewhere that is not too far away.

Silverleaf.....You've quoted the only book I place higher in my fave list than LOTR. It's also the only book I've read MORE (mainly coz it's shorter and easier to read) Not really- I just love that book and it's messages. And I so wanted to name my daughter Scout, but my husband refused :(

Husbands! I had to battle with mine over the name of our second daughter. He picked our first daughters name & I agreed to it, so I told him he had no choice but to agree with me on the second one. He finally relented and now we have Mallory!
I haven't read To Kill a Mockingbird since high school, I need to read it again. But I remembered that quote, and love it for some reason, so I put it in here.

BOTH days, Rock? ;)

May 8th,2003, 09:39 PM
I don't know about BOTH days. That would border on obsession, wouldn't it? Far be it anyone on THIS board to exhibit such behavior. ;)
Silverleaf
May 8th,2003, 11:17 PM
You have a point  No one on this board is obsessed, right?;)
~~not even going to mention that I saw it twice in 3 days just 2 weeks ago, and am going again on Friday~~ :p

Not to mention I already have plans to watch ROTK 2 times the first day it opens. Once with the husband, and he can leave, and the daughter will join me. If my son comes home, hey- its 3 times roflmao Obsessed??? Me??? Any of us??? No way.
And Rock- which $$ theatre? I may have to be in Columbus this weekend......

IDM - that would be the Cinemark 12 in Carriage Place plaza. Corner of Bethel and Sawmill roads in Northwest Columbus. I think $1.50 after 6:00 on Fridays and during the weekend.
Movie Ticket: $1.50
Medium buttered popcorn and soda: $25.00
Watching TTT for the 12th time while your friends scratch their heads and roll their eyes: priceless

Rock26! lol roflmao lol It's the refreshments that get you where it hurts (your wallet). It's a crime I say!
Lasgalen: I haven't checked nearby larger cities. The three closest largest cities to me (other than my own) would all be at least three hours away (some longer). I don't really have the money to make a long drive like that. Plus my last viewing of TT was quite enjoyable.....noise was at a minimum (even for a packed theatre) and the sound was really good, so I've decided to let my last near perfect viewing stand (if that makes sense. )

Yeah, that makes sense. This way you have good memories to carry you thru until the DVD release. I only live 1/2 hr from Phoenix so it is easy to drive.

Yeah, I'm so happy! TTT is showing at our 99 cent theater. I didn't think it would, because they usually just show movies that cater to kids. The place is always jam packed with them, anyway. Oh, well, they won't stop me this time.

That's kinda what I thought, Lasgalen...end on a high-note, so to speak.....I really don't think there are any dollar theatres in my city......we have four large ones, and another being built soon, but I don't think we have any dollar theatres.....oh well. It'll make my first viewing of TT on DVD that much more special.

And, thanks to the fact that tomorrow is Mother's Day, my dear spouse has offered to take me to the $ theatre to see TTT again. What a wonderful gift. :smooch:

TTT is now open at 5 dollar theaters in our metro area. In my suburb there are two theaters showing it, but one has seats that I could not spend 3 hours in. Went to the other one for Mother's Day, too. It was quite full and the audience was very enthusiastic. Lots of fun.

I don't understand why we don't have any dollar theatres. TT has been gone from my metro area for 2 months. :( Theatres here have a tendency to whip a movie off as soon as they can......drat.......I'll just have to be patient and wait till August......*waits patiently*

While having lunch with my friend yesterday, she mentioned her niece was visiting and they went and saw TTT at the $2 theater a few weeks ago. :o I find it hard to believe TTT would still be playing anywhere. Does anyone else still have it around?

TTT is still playing at 2 low price theaters in my area, but only with 2 showings per day.

Yes, at least one $ theater I know of is showing it. Sometimes every day, other weeks, only on the weekends. The owner must be a Fan!
If I remember right, last year they kept showing FOTR up until the week that the video/DVD came out for rental.

A friend of mine and I went to go see TTT at the $1 theatre here in Omaha right around when school was ending(late May). We hadn't seen it since February so we were definitely in need for a fix. And here's the best part: We decided to go to the 12:30 Matinee show and guess what? All shows at that theatre before 6:00 PM are only 50 CENTS!!!
So basically, I saw The Two Towers for the change I found in the ashtray of my car. Pretty sweet in my opinion.
P.S. - and yes, the theatre was small and the sound was bad, but I didn't mind.
