Which do you prefer, and why?

Sorry I didn't include the other races....I'd really just like to know which of these two are more popular.

I just think that overall elves are a bit more :cool: They have a kinda 'magick'...whereas Tolkein said that there is little or no magic in hobbits... Elves also wear better clothes...no wrong sized pedal pushers for me! lol Hobbits can be a bit...nondescript, in more ways than one...whereas elves can stand out more and are 'fairer' and all that kind of stuff... :huh:

I think that can go for Hobbits too! (not just Aragorn)
The may not look fair enough for some, and may look too small, but deep inside they have greater will and courage and bravery than any other in Middle Earth! You dont see elves carrying the ring to Mordor, so that must mean Hobbits have the strength and the will to keep going, better than any could have had! Their hearts are pure. Elves are great too, but for a hobbits sake, dont judge a book by its cover! ;)

I think I need to clarify that this thread isn't (entirely) for swooning purposes, at least thats not what I was going for...

I like hobbits because I generally enjoy characters more when I can relate to them. Hobbits have fear, doubt, etc. that everyone deals with, while elves and certain Numenoreans don't tend to have such complications. I know they feel it the same, but its not shown as much, its not what they represent......I make less and less sense with each post. :)

Sorry, elflovers, I've voted for hobbits. I really had hard time deciding because they each have different qualities! Elves (especially Legolas!) is tall, handsome, immortal, and powerful!!! Hobbits, in contrast, is short, cute (when young), and seemingly tame. But hobbits can be great when they are cornered.
