Nenya... Ring of Adamant or Water, bourne by the Lady Galadriel and forged in the second age by the great elven smith, Celebrimbor.

'For the film, Jasmine (Watson) and her team created a ring hand-carved from sterling silver, its flawless surface created by dipping the ring in an acid bath. The ring was set with a large clear crystal cubic zirconium. The band is made up of interwoven leaves. Topping it off is a filigree of overlapping dragonflies, through which stone shows. Again, like much of the Elven jewellery and buildings, this is inspired by the Art Nouveau movement. Jasmine says that this ring was one of the most difficult items to make, though we are sure you will agree her perseverance paid off.' --an extract from the movies section of War of the Ring.

Nenya has got to be one of my fave jewellery in LotR. It looks so elegant and mystical, and not too showy too. It's invisible in fact, except to Frodo. Jasmine and her team sure did a great job!

I much prefer Jasmine Watson's version of the ring.much more as I'd pictured the other just looks like a diamond solitaire. Did Jasmine make the other two rings as well? If so can we see her versions because I think they would look much better.

BUT I would love to get a replica of it, looking as it does in the pics in the movie/ here on this decipher card.... its far more delicate... and subtle...

I've noticed that the pics posted in the above post were not from WotR itself, and posting images in from another site which is termed as "hot linking", is generally frowned upon. Not only do you pull the bandwidth from the other site to feed the image, the other site does not get any of the traffic that the image might bring to that site. (Bandwidth is what you pay for and hits are what you want. Hits are used to measure the amount of traffic on your site.)

Therefore, I've changed the img code to url code instead.

So all forum members, please refrain from hot-linking pictures directly onto your posts, unless the source of the picture is WotR itself. Thanks. ;)

oh you're right. Take a look at the screen cap that I posted on page 1 of this thread (u have to scroll down). Both Narya and Vilya are red. That's why i don't trust external jewellers. lol Sometimes they don't portray the jewels the right way. Rather get 'em from the jewellers who contributed to the movie. lol Like Jasmine Watson ;)

Okay, so one of the rings was supposed to have a blue stone? I'm confused.....:huh: Which is supposed to have the red stone, and which one is suposed to have the blue stone?

Vilya and Narya have red stones in the movie. The ring with blue stone is just another interpretation of Vilya by other jewellers I guess.

I love Vilya too. I think it's so cool that they put so much time, money and effort in objects like the elvenrings, the Ring of Barahir etc. eventhough they we're only showed for a few seconds. It makes it all more real to me.

Yup, the Vilya in the books has a blue stone. That makes it rather weird as to why the movie Vilya seemed to have red stone. :huh: I've seen other Vilyas made by other jewellers having red stones. Just a matter of different interpretaion, I suppose.

But I prefer the blue version. I like blue, and blue sort of describes the sky, which coincides with air... and Vilya is ring of air!

Actually the colours ar strange to me, I would say that red is the right colour for a ring of fire but that a ring of air would have a clear/white stone and a ring of water have a blue stone

I really want to buy the three rings of power, personally I prefer Narya. It is the most powerful in my opinion, and Gandalf has it...BONUS! I really like that ring, but Vilya and Nenya take the medal for the nicest rings of power. Overall, I would prefer Narya - Ring of Fire.
