Okay this forum doesn't seemed to have been used in a LONG time. It maybe a little dusty..*brings our feather duster and arouses clouds of dust* lol....but I'm sure that it will be fine! I admit, I was put of using this place when I was new because it was so quiet. But hopefully we can change this. If your reading this right now then thank you for taking the time to look at this. You're part of the first step to wake up this forum. The next step would be to post something! So thats the point of this thread! Feel free to start up a conversation on anything to do with the forum, right here! Anything at all, as long as it is to do with ..well no better way to put it...Tabletop Battles. Once we start something, hopefully more will follow, so post away.

I'll start my spring cleaning now so all that dust will be gone :)...*sets to work*

Happy Posting,

Igtica ;)

Space marines are my fave team :flamer: i know there a bit pants but it doesnt matter they just look so cool. I havesum of lotr warhammer and ive got the balrog and the ENTS. the ents are the best character in lotr and it just kills every thing at the end of the 2 towers. Its a good piece in the game too.

Good to see the dust cleared from this forum *blows remaining dust away*
An insightful opinion, Cadoc. I like the Ents too...I hear there's a very nice Treebeard figure you can buy.
Anyone collect that "Battle Games of Middle-Earth" mag that came out?

Thank god the dust has gone, it was aggrivating my Hayfever!

I have been into GW for a very long time now and its good to see its fortunes rise with the Lotr range.

As to my favourite 40K army, it has to be the Tyranids.

I also have a very extensive High Elves army, approx. 10000+ points.

Anyone in the UK in Sussex fancy a battle?

:elfeek: WOW, thanks so much for saying something Treebeard! It's amazing to have someone here with an interest. I'm glad that said something ! You sound like an impressive fan, the strange thing is that I live in Sussex too! I'll try and clean some more of this dust away for you *sets to work with feather duster in hand* I never got the chance to clean again, as the dust seemed to make it less silent, I mean dust bunnies are company....right

Yes we love the dust bunnies lol
Treebeard, as Ig said, thanks for posting (this forum really needs waking up!) We all live rather close to one another (me being the furthest away :p ) - maybe it's an England thing!
It sounds like you're very dedicated!

Hell, ive got nothing to do for 3 entire months (except paint and work) so it would be great to get a battle.

Igtica

wow the dedication! I find it hard not spending too much money on them! They can be really expensive! *wonders where Treebeard's secret fund is* I really enjoy the time it takes to paint them though, but recently I lost my finest brush, so i need to get another :( lol I guess that Treebeard doesn't find many like him, it's a real shame. But it's true everywhere......I guess... But that's why we have this forum ;)

To be honest, i went off buying GW when they introduced 'White Metal', an increase of 25% - this explains why most of my models are older versions.
But if your a lotr and GW fan, you have to have the boxed sets, even if the models are for show

*coughs* show....yes well it makes sense now! Sorry I've been asleep :snooze: but I'm awake, so Treebeard are there any faves you have?

Well lets start by asking which of those is your fave before I get started lol. I know someone with Treebeard also Nala, but then again I'm not surprised that person has it! Hmm good question though, may have to look around to see about that one. It's sometimes heard to get such info.

40K would have to be my 'fave', closely followed by Lotr and Warhammer.

Lower down come bloodbowl, necromunda, and (on the odd occasion) Man O' War

Hmm i see, so do you have any that your are particularrticularly proud of in 40K, LoTR or warhammer? lol BTW this can be a 2 way convo, feel free to ask me anything :p

As in painted minatures? Sure lots, generally because i stick to simple paint schemes.

My tyranids are, basically, blue and purple with a purple ink wash.

Most of the Lotr models are as they are in the book.

At the moment im thinking of a Hive tyrant conversion like the one up at GW (Lictor claws as feet), however it would be very hard to hide a model against Missile Launchers and Plasma Cannons!

How long have you been into Lotr and other GW stuff Igi? any favourite models?

I like the sound of blue and purple (my fave colours)! Is there any chance you could upload a picture of your painted models, Treebeard? I think I would choose black and yellow, to convey a "dangerous" effect.

Hmm, how to upload a picture, have to tell me about that.

YIPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE Ive just found out ive passed my course at the University of Brighton, only 2 more years to go :)

To load up a picture you'll need to find a place to host it on the internet. One place I know of that allows you to host for free is www.strike9.com but there are others. Once you have it loaded up you can then right click on the picture and go to propeties to get a URL. Copy this address and then by using the http button when posting you can paste the URL when it says enter full URL link (after enter name). This will put up a link to your pic. Similarly you could use the IMG button instead and paste the URL in the box provided which will mean the picture will show up on the post, but often this doesn't work, so the link route is better.

My brother brought a load of Uruk Hai, he's collecting the dark forces with two mates. The figures are excellent quality.

I've got a few LotR models but I never get round to painting them. i've got Riders of Rohan, Heroes of Helm's Deep, Elrond, Arwen & Frodo on Asfaloth, and that first alliance set with orcs, elves and gondorians.

Warhammer 40000 sucks! but Warhammer is cool! I just built Helms Deep.

Gil Galad
December 7th,2003, 07:54 PM
you built Helms Deep Rada, well done, i keep trying to get round to that, but it just never seems to happen.

i love the LOTR game, its cool, although i dont like the way its based so heavily on thfilm and not more so on the books.
im thinkin of making a massive High Elves army, maybe for use in First age battles
