View Full Version : The Movie Quotes Game

Lady Arien

This was a favorite of mine elsewhere, and I hope some of you missed it too.....

I'll start by posting a quote from a movie (any movie, not just LOTR) and when someone guesses the movie and/or the character that said it, they post a quote of their own.

If you post a quote, please make sure to check back often so that you may give the go-ahead to the next member (or offer a hint if necessary).....and one member at a time with new quotes, please.

Let's get the party started with:

"We must be beautiful, and powerful, and without regret"....

Aragorn Isildur

Lady Arien
July 25th,2002, 06:01 AM

Kwijibo
July 25th,2002, 07:05 PM

Lady Arien

Tom Cruise, Bradd Pit, Antanio (dont know his last name), Christan Slater in 1994's vampire story by Anne Rice: "Interview with the Vampire"

and the quote is from, I am fuzzy on this though, I was thinking Armand the vampire from Thearter des Vampirs speaking to Louie.

Lady Arien
July 25th,2002, 08:01 PM
Yes.......
Your turn, sir!!!

Kwijibo
July 25th,2002, 08:03 PM
Nice one, Mystic!

Well done! What your quote?

The Mystic
July 25th,2002, 08:20 PM
Okay, here is a good one, think mid 1990s movie:

"Though there do I see my Father. Though there do I see my Mother, my Sisters and my Brothers. Though there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Though they do call to me, they bid me to take my place among them in the halls of Bellhara., where the brave will live forever."

This quote was spoken two times in the movie and I will accept either answer.

July 30th,2002, 06:00 AM
No....., a hint perhaps?

The Mystic
July 30th,2002, 10:25 PM
Okay okay, here is a hint. Think from the Middle East to Europe, vikings and pagans, demons, a village in dispair, and a well known latino actor playing the lead role

Illuvatar
July 30th,2002, 10:45 PM
Ah...well I haven't seen the movie(does that count)

The Mystic
July 31st,2002, 06:44 PM
Now now now, that is only a guess, and a close one at that, and guesses only count in hand grenades and horse shoes.

Sounds like a valid answer disguised as guess....but an answer just the same....my guess is that you will probably be allowed to proceed my beloved Illu, but you must be patient.....right, Mystic?

Illuvatar
August 12th,2002, 07:08 PM
Sorry...

This was a movie and is considered one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time!

Goldilocks

Science fiction.......Blade Runner?

Illuvatar
August 13th,2002, 07:46 PM
:whoohoo: You got it Goldilocks!! :p

Harrison Ford in Blade Runner, which is considered to be one of the best Science Fiction movies of all time!

He is sitting in his squad car and narrating(as he does through most of the film), explaining that a Blade Runner is basically a cop who's job it is to hunt down and kill(retire) rogue androids that resemble humans in every way(Replicants). And on killing for a living, he remarks "Oh well...I'd rather be a killer than a victim."

Your up Goldilocks!

Goldilocks
August 13th,2002, 08:17 PM
YEA! Truth be told, I've never seen it, even though I own it. How sad is that! I have so many movies.

Okay. My turn.

"I'd like the chef's salad please with the oil and vinigar on the side and the apple pie a la mode. But I'd like the pie heated and I'd like strawberry instead of vanilla if you have it. If not, then no ice cream, just whipped cream, but only if it's real. If it's out of the can, then nothing."
"Not even the pie?"
"No, just the pie, but then not heated."

Lady Arien
August 14th,2002, 10:56 PM
Ah....Meg Ryan...When Harry Met Sally...wasn't there something about grilled radicchio in there as well?

Goldilocks
August 15th,2002, 12:05 AM
You got it Lady Arien! Nope, no grilled radicchio. Got the line memorized. My friends tell me I'm a cross between Meg's characters and Shirly MacLean's character in 'Steel Magnolias.' I try to take it as a compliment. :p

Your turn!

Lady Arien
