From FoTR, which of the omitted material would you want to be included if you had your wish?
'Ol Tom or Glorfindel, theres a wealth to choose from.

Frodo's defiance at the ford. I know I've talked it to death already, but I really miss it. Just to hear the line in my signature....
Would have been lovely, but oh well.

i would have liked to have seen Frodos meeting with Gildor....mainly cos i love that line "go not to the Elves for counsel for they will say both no and yes"

I do like that, catz!
I also like that Frodo was recognized as an elf-friend.

Elves are pretty annoying that way...hmm... :mmmm:
I would have DEFINITELY had the letter thing from gandalf...made a bit more of old butterbur and the way that they meet aragorn...'all that is gold does not glitter' and all that kind of thing. Definitely one of my fav chapters was 'Strider'... :(

I also missed "A Conspiracy Unmasked," an explantion of why Merry and Pippin decided to go with Frodo would have been very nice. It may have shown their close friendship, and how they would sacrifice so much for him....

the Barrow-downs - the treasures, the creeping hand, the choice of braveness, mostly the last, I think it was one of the turning points of the book....

i would have liked to have seen tom bombadil...that would have been cool...and when he saves them the second time and gives them their swords...as opposed to aragorn giving them to the hobbits and saying "strap these on!"

I would like to have seen the Conspiracy Unmasked too. I think the Nazgul's attacks in the Shire add desperation to the story, especially the at Crickhollow with Fatty. I wold have loved to see how they did the Barrow Wights but Tom Bombadil was a 'dispensible character'. I didn't really ... like ... Tom, he reminds me too much of my Dad lol ... *gasp* Did I say that? :embarras: Anyway, I don't think the singing would have worked on the big screen.
Also, I would have liked the Glorfindel bit coz I can't stand Arwen ... Grr verymad But, even though I didn't like it, they did it well. I guess they didn't want to introduce too many characters that wouldn't be used again. Ickle kiddies would get confused if a big colourful guy shows up, sings for a bit, and then doesn't play a big role in the story. Likewise with sparkly elf people :)

A Conspiracy Unmasked is one of my fav. chapters because I find it absolutely hilarious how Frodo was taken by surprise at Pippin Merry and Sam knowing the whole time. And to top it all off Sam was a spy. It would be soooo funny. :loveyou: roflmao

I would like to have seen some feasting in the Hall of Fire, and Bilbo nodding at the fireplace writing his song, and asking for his friend the Dunedan to help him.
I would like to have seen the first exposure of the elves in Woody End and shared in Sam's wonder at them.
I would like to have seen Bill Ferny and to see how the group came up with Bill the pony and the 'waste of a good apple' scene.
AND LEAVING OUT GANDALF'S LETTER AT THE PRANCING PONY WAS THE WORST!

I would of liked to see the scene when they have the party with Galadriel on the river. I mean the party is described so great in the book yet they didn't include it in the movie. I mean I would of like to see them all get their gifts and stuff from here. That was one scene I wished they included.:elfqueen:

Hi new Galadriel person. Welcome to WOTR. I can't believe no one already had that name! Yes, we thinks that scene you want to see was recovered just for us book fans in the upcoming extended version in Dec.
Did you stop in the 'Welcome' thread to introduce yourself?
:read:
I would like to have seen Gollum floating down the Anduin on a log and being spotted by Sam. Wait, I think that TOO, will be in the extended version. Oh, boy!
:hooray:
