Does anyone here play the Games Workshop Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring game?
Well, I have found that it's actually pretty good, especially once you understand the advanced rules.
My advice is to buy the Drawf Kings blister! if you check the stats on them and that of Gimli they are virtually the same! Use these guys as your captians and they will almost surely survive until the end of pratically any battle.
Oh, good tatical tip! If you are playing
the side of good don't use the high elves or men of gondor as your archers, use the Lorién Woodelves, they are much cheaper and you can field more of them, the only trouble is they have less armor, but your archers are not to be in the fray to begin with!
Tatical tip for the side of evil, forget the Mordor Orcs (okay okay, get a blister or two because they do look really cool), go with the Moria Goblins! They are not as worthless as you think! The goblins can scale walls without a problem and they are very cheap to field. I like to use these creatures like specialized infantry. Use these guys like wasps and swarm entire armies and try to field some urak-hai to aid them in the battles, use the goblins to pin and attempt to kill everyone but use your urak-hai as your elites. Though, yes, you will take casualties your prime targets are to go against men and elves only, use these only aginst a dwarf if you outnumber him 6:1, and with that you might get lucky and cause a few wounds, but know that all drawfs can slaughter anything it seems! I once saw Sauron against the entire fellowship and the only one that stood a remote change after all the others were slaughtered was Gimili.
Oh, one more thing that I have come to discover: Never underestimate a hobbit! these little guys are worth their weight somes, I used all four of my hobbits against four moria goblins with swords and sheilds and four moria goblins with spears, the hobbits whipped them six ways to sunday and I used a starndard of f/3, s/2, d/3, a/1, w/1, c/4 and for their might/will/fate I gave them M/2, W/1, F/1 (captian settings without the extra strength or the extra attack).
be sure to read my upcoming tatical tips for the use fo the over looked warriors of the Dwarf kings!
