Found this on ebay. Really don't know if Russell Crowe really auditioned or what, but I thought it was interesting. IMHO, I'm glad he didn't get it. Viggo was perfect.

i've seen that picture around somewhere... on a site with alternate actors as lotr chars, and it was all bogus... can't help feeling it's fake lol

you are right Tar, I saw that before. They've edited Russell Crowe's face onto Aragorn's body...very fake...Are they SERIOUSLY SELLING that? Good grief. The other picsture included Yoda playing Gollum and Julia Roberts as Arwen and a ton of other pictures.

ARGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Crowe as Aragorn????? Oh the horror *shudder, shudder* !!! Viggo, in my opinion (which must be quite obvious considering my username :) ), was phenominal, sexy, noble, touching, hot....hmmmm.....Even though this pic is a joke, it is a bit terrifying just to think of the possibilities...

I agree that Viggo was perfect: He was handsome, like he was supposed to be, but still rugged. And he just had that look to him like he was royalty, but hidden deep within him. You could see it in his eyes that he was someone great. Also, earlier in this post someone said they thought Orlando Bloom was not a good pic for Legolas, and I would now like to explain why I disagree even though it is slightly off the subject.
1). He looked excartly like an elf: He is the only person I have seen that would look ungoofy with long hair of an opposite color from their normal hair and different color eyes.
2). He walked and acted exactly like an elf. He was very swift, graceful, and catlike(i.e. when he was walking through the snow on the mountain on the way to the Mines of Moria, and when he was fighting the troll in the Mines).
3). He is a good actor. It is slightly hard to act like an elf, but he indeed accomplished it. He said his lines with feeling and looked very intelligent and involved, like he was in the books.
4). He is tall and thin and has elf-like features. He is fair and handsome, like elves were in the book.
OK, I just had to get that out, sorry, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that was mine.

No, I agree Lady Luthien, Orlando Bloom was a particularly good choice for legolas, for all the reasons you mentioned, although I'm personally partial to aragorn....:grin:

I really cannot imagine anybody playing the part of Aragorn other than Viggo! Especially Russell Crowe! He did play a good part in Gladiator, but that was an entirely different film.

It is a good thing it is only a joke! Perish the thought!
