Photo Gallery update!

Hey Folks,

I've revamped the layout for our Photo Gallery with new menus and cleaned up the pages. You should now be able to access all sections and all catagories without having to scroll about, and I think you just may like our fancy new menus as well! :p

You can visit our new gallery from anywhere on the site via the main nav or go directly to it here (http://www.warofthering.net/movies/photos/photointro.shtml)

Feedback is appreciated as always! Also, if your a 56k modem type user, I would really appreciate some "new vs old" page load speed type comparisons.

Please view side by side if you could and let me know if the new page loads slower, faster, no change, etc.

the new one is way quicker on my modem...as in it loaded in a few seconds whereas the old one has taken over 10 seconds. i thin k its cos of the lack of scrolly bits in the new one...they always seem to take forever to load!

Oh, I've been contacted by a couple of folks who had minor problems with FotR Aragorn going off the top of the screen and not being displayed.

This is not a problem with the new menus. The site has been designed for 1024x768 resolution. So if you encounter this problem just go to Control Panel/Display/Settings and under "Screen Area" move the slider from 800x640 to the right and set it to 1024x768.

This will allow all elements of the menus to be displayed and actually the entire site along wih most sites on the internet should look MUCH better! :p

I like the new layout. The lack of scrolly things really makes it seem much nicer and cleaner. :thumbs:

However...it's been a week now, and it took until today for someone to notice that I had a typo in the nav and the Boromir page wasn't showing! Tis what happens when you spell it "Borimir"!! lol

Anyways, he's all fixed up now, so you Boromir fans enjoy!!!!!

*sniff* ofc it would happen to Boromir... cos no one cares about him! lol kidding illu, I think it's an improvement as well... what bugged me a lot about the last one is I would use my back button and the drop down list would be selected and I would try to scoll down the page only to select another option in the same list and then go to the wrong page, and I'm probably not making any sense here... and just to let you know, Illu, when I mention WotR to most of my non-WotR friends, they always say we have the best photo gallery they've seen... well several of them have said that anyway, and it's about time I passed that on lol
