To get an avatar, click on the 'options' button at the left of the forum menu. Then you'll see a link that says 'user options' (among others) click on this link, and scroll down to the avatar options.:)

That's right. When you click on that 'change avatar' button, there'll be a list that displays all the avatars you can choose from currently, based on the number of posts you've made. Initially, you can change your avatar each time your post number increases by 50. (or was it 100? sorry, can't remember) But the number gets bigger as it goes on...

Anyway, by clicking the 'more info' button for the avatar options, you can see all the avatars available in this site and the number of posts you have to make to use them. ;)

You'd have to be a subscriber of WotR (see http://www.warofthering.net/subscribers/subscription.shtml for details), a staff member of WotR, nominated for member of the month, or post 20000 posts in order to have a custom avatar ;)

I have a question: why the title under my name have changed?

The title under your name changes as you post more, as you journey through the chapters of LoTR. The title will change at the same time as the avatars do, so you can refer to the avatars page to see when your title will also change.
You get a custom title if you are voted MoTM, a subscriber, or a member of staff. Hope that helps! :)

Umm... a minor mistake there, yayster. :grin: The title doesn't change when your avatar changes, it changes with the number of posts you make. Like every 100 posts or something, there's a new chapter title. So folks with custom avatars will still get to use this feature if they don't wish to have a custom title :thumbs:

Well...what I think Yay meant was that as your title changes, your choices in avatars changes as well.

Simply put...everytime your title changes...you've reached another one of the threshholds that we set up in regards to post counts. At each threshold more and more avatars become available.

As to "when" they change....well....it's set to take you through the first few chapters rather quickly in order to give plenty of avatar choices straight away, so some chapters will change in like 25 posts intervals, some 50, and as they go along further along the intervals also become longer inbetween, so like for later chapters, it won't change for like 100 posts, then 250, 500, etc.

Yep, if I was still changeing my Avatar.. I couldn't change it again until 12,000 posts... But then again it doean't matter since we're trying to not put an emfacise on Post totals....;)
