That's a cool brooch. What exactly is the shape? Is it an animal?

The design looks like it has a strong celtic influence perhaps to give Gandalf a druidic feel to his overall look.

It's certainly a lovely piece of jewellery! In fact, it's another creation of Jasmine Watson's team. But I don't think it's called a brooch. This (http://www.jasminewatson.com/home/homeFrameset.html) website says its called a cloak attachment, and it's made of sterling silver ;)

yup doesn't matter what it's called really. the fasterner beautifies the cloak, just like what a brooch does, so I guess that's about the same. I think it suits his cloak and status very well.

JAsmine Watson is just fantastic! Her jewels look really authentic for the medieval sceneries in LOTR. And those fine details look so wonderful! And one can discuss for hours about the meaning they might have... :)

Yes Jasmine Watson is great.. this cloak atachment fits Gandalf so much: beautiful and light as Gandalf has become, but also evry abstrack to show there is still more behind Gandalf then meets the eye ;)
Very great piece of jewelry

Well yes, Jasmine is very talented. Anyways, you guys can bring on your opinions about her works in greater detail in this thread (http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4019).

In the meantime, back to ol' Gandy's cloak fasterner/brooch! Anyone has any idea about whether it's elvish jewellery?

it looks rather elvish, and i would think it was elvish for the elves of the Lohlorien clothed him after he defeated the balrog:thumbs:.........

Ooh yes you're right lol
And it does seem elvish too... especially the lovely designs on the brooch.

When I first saw it in Enelya's pic, I thought it was a leaf, but when you look at it closely in Beleriel's pic, it doesn't really have shape at all....
But when I comparred it to some jewels the Lorienelves and Galadriel wear, it shows a lot of similarities, so I guess Jasmine Watson disigned it as an elven.

youre right Hobbit. it does resemble some of the jewelry that Galadriel wears, like her crown(or whatever its called).

It seems very abstract to me. But there is a basic leaf shape and the curves do suggest it is of elvish design I would think. :)
