LotR Survivor II - Challenge the odds!

Howdy folks! lol
Given the succes of Igtica's first LotR Survivor, it is now time to start Survivor II. :grin:
It will of course be hosted by the lovely Igtica, and co-hosted by me. YayBoromir! has kindly volunteered to help us out, making sure everyone is on track with 'current events' after each round, as we had some confusion in the so-who-answered-what-first department in the previous game. lol
Anyways, everyone is welcome to play - if you wish to take part in the game, post here. :)
If you'd prefer to observe from a cozy seat as a member of The Peanut Gallery, post here. :)
The number of players is unlimited, once we know how many people want to play, we will work out how many groups there shall be, and all the similar details.

We need to start thinking about new team names again! So any ideas, feel welcome to put that down. Also there's the question of do you want the Peanut Gallery to be called the Peanut Gallery again? Hobster, it's just like the Survival game. You join a team. You have tasks set out for you by the game host. Each team has to compete with each other so it isn't the last to complete the task. At the end of each round, the team in which members take longest time to complete the task will have to vote off a member.

she was going to put our ideas for the three names into a hat.

So far the themes for the names that we had come up with were the places of ME, the three hunters, and three of the ladies from ME,

thats basically what i meant in the other post and the stuff in the parenthisies were the names for each theme

like if we went with the three hunters the names would be Aragorn Legolas, and Gimli and so on and so forth.

I think everyone wants to start asap, but you're right, we'd need you on the team. The game gets confusing easily, so I think it's more important that you keep your post. :)

Hm... Since we're lacking volunteers apparently, we can basically do two things I can think of.
One option is waiting until Evenstar comes back. I'm not too fond of this option, to be honest...
The other one is this:
We divide you into 3 groups of 3, just so we know who's on which team. Then, since Evenstar will not be here, you could play the first round in 2 groups of 4. Of course, when one player will be voted off, and Evenstar returns, there will be eight of you again. So we could go back to the original three groups, and the team who originally had the member that you voted off, will lose that member. Erm, I have a gift for complicating things, don't I? :blush:
Well, let me know what you want to do, and if anyone has any better ideas, please share them. :thumbs: Or if anyone still wants to volunteer for one round - please do. :grin:

Yayster has kindly volunteered to replace Evenstar until she gets back, and I think we'll take her up on that offer now. :grin:
So we have 3 groups of 3 players.
Plus Elfdaughter and Nari. That's 11 people. Which can't be sorted into groups that would have an equal number of players. So basically, we're one player short again, because Evenstar said she'd like to play when she gets back, and only wanted a 'part-time replacement' lol...

Alrighty people, as my lovely co-host just said - it's (finally lol) time for the first round! :whoohoo:

Here's how it goes:

I am posting 12 quotes from the LotR films, 4 for each group. Each player has to say which character is quoted for ONE of the quotes. So one quote per player, and of course all four quotes must be solved.

When you post your answer, please be kind enough to state which team you are answering for, because it is much easier to follow the answers that way. :)

Once everyone has answered, the team which will be the last to finish will have to vote off one of their members (who is then welcome to join the peanut gallery :)).

If there are any questions, feel free to ask. :grin:

I hope that this delay hasn’t frustrated anyone (i hope Dawn can still get a chnace for this round). Anyways finally, I hope, this is round 2. Again the same rules apply as before. Only answer one question per member, or any extras will be awarded with deducted points and your team won’t get another chance to answer that question. For this round each team has been given a simple description. Simply tell me the character which is being described and your team will get a point if it’s right. Slowest team to post all there answers(or the one with the least points at the end of the round) will have to vote a precious member off (though they will get the chance to join our PG along with BG who has gracefully accepted this and also peeps like our Survivor from the 1st game, FL ) Please post with team name and question number with answer again!

TEAM ARAGORN:
1. She is known to be one of the oldest elves alive at the time of Frodo’s quest with the ring. She bearss a ring of power and also gives the dwarf Gimli, 3 of her golden hairs as a gift when the fellowship leave her tree top home of Lothlorien.

2. He was the leader of the wizard community until he joined Sauron in hope to gain more power. This greed caused him to lose his reputation for renowned wisdom. He tried to aid Sauron from Isengard, but failed when the Ents of neighbouring forests destroyed his work because he cut down many of the trees that the Ents aid.

3. He is the one of the most prized horses of Rohan. He was deemed untameable after Gandalf took him as his steed. Gandalf can ride this grey stallion without need for any sort of tack, and he is known for his great speed, stamina and swiftness. He faithfully answers Gandalf’s call when he is needed.

4. He mourned the lost of many from his race when he found what had happened to the underground city of Moria. His spirit for battle shines through all, and his faithful axe is one of his most prized items. He becomes great friends with the elf Legolas, and is known for his competition with him.

TEAM GIMLI:
1. He is from a dwindling race of tree shepherds. He help Merry and Pippin when he found them in the forest, and gave them the drink of his kind, Ent Draught, which had unexpected side affects. He lead the Ents into battle when he found that evil forces from Isengard had destroyed the forests that his kind love.

2. He is the elf that aids Aragorn and Gimli hunt for Orc when they find that Merry and Pippin have been taken. His fantastic sight allows him to use bow and arrows to amazing accuracy. Orlando Bloom plays this character.

3. His memorable horn was always at his side, and his thoughts always of aiding his home land of Gondor, where his father Dethenor was Steward. He lost his life trying to protect the hobbits of the fellowship, and his death is seen as the breaking point in the fellowship. He was favoured by his father more than his brother, Faramir.

TEAM LEGOLAS:
1. He is the faithful gardener and friend of Frodo Baggins. Gandalf made him promise to accompany Frodo on his quest to destroy the One ring. His gift from the lady of Lothlorien was a box of soil from the land that was to aid in rebuilding the shire, and also the useful Elven rope that helped himself and Frodo on their journey to Mount Doom.

2. He is the heir of Isildur, and takes his place as King of Gondor and Arnor once Sauron’s forces are destroyted. He weds the fair Elf Arwen, even though before this he hid in the shadows as a Ranger of the lands.

3. He was thought lost in the mines of Moria, to the great Balrog, Durin’s Bane. But he appeared again, but lost his old grey mantle and claimed a new name and costume. He lead Bilbo on his quest to the Lonely Mountain, and began the quest to destroy the One Ring. He is known in the Shire for his excellent fireworks.

4. She is the last of the great arachnids given birth by Ungoliant. She lives in her mountain lair below the summit of the Pass at Cirth Ungol. Gollum becomes friendly with her when he first passes through Cirth Ungol, and tries to use his knowledge of her to his advantage when advising Frodo and Sam on a suitable route to Mount Doom.
