A sudden sound made Elarrina stop. Somebody was following her...

A human stepped out from behind one of the great oak trees. She was clad in buckskin breeches and wore a long grey cloak, the wind had blown off her hood revealing masses of wavy brown hair. The woman had green eyes that seemed to draw you in when she looked at you. She smiled in a friendly way at the hobbit., and spoke to her in a gentle tone, so as not to frighten her.
"Hello there, little, hobbit! I hope I didn't frighten you. I am simply out exploring this great land of Arda. My mother had a fondness for hobbits, and I thought I might go and find one for myself. My name is Brin, and I'm a ranger by default. With a mother for I ranger, I couldn't very well become a seamstress or a lady's maid." She finished with a laugh.

Elarrina trembled in fear of the human. "I've...never...seen...a...human...before." Elarrina her voice cracked in fear. Brin smilled and ruffled her curly hair. 'No fear little hobbit, what is your name?' Brin said smilling.
'El...Elarrina.' her voice didn't sound any better.
The woman laughed, 'You are a shy hobbit, I never new that hobbits were so shy. My mother didn't tell me.' Brin said. Elarrina froze stiff with her head titled so she could see Brin's face. 'Is anybody home in there?' Brin asked and knocked on her head like a door. Elarrina screamed and ran around the tree next her.
Elarrina went right threw the river with out reconizing it, she was drowning. Brin chassed after her and dove in to the stream to save her. Brin threw her on the bank, 'Your crazy little thing when your scared too.' Brin said and chulcked.

"Oi... you! What are you up to?" Another hobbit came running over to the odd pair. Seeing a very tall stranger (especially in the eyes of a Hobbit) hunching over a little Hobbit both drenched was an odd sight. Especially on a cold morning in the middle of fall! Giving the tall human an odd look the Hobbit took off her cloak and covered the shivering Elarrina. "Ye'll be catching yer death of cold if ye stay out here, mark me words! What ever gave you the idea of going swimming at a time like this?"
For some reason this made the stranger's smile broaden. "Well, no time talking 'bout it at the moment. Come with me home where ye'll get a chance to get warm"

Hearing a small voice call out, “Oi…you! What are you up to?” The ranger turned to see another hobbit coming to investigate the commotion. “My name is Brin, and I mean no harm to you or your kin. I simply came to learn more of your race.” She extended her hand in a friendly gesture to the new arrival. “What shall I call you?” She asked as she followed the young hobbit to her home.
The chance of a warm fire under a friendly roof held great appeal for the weary ranger. She had traveled some distance to finally arrive in the realm of the hobbit folk. She was weary of battles and petty rivalries among her own kin. She was eager to make the acquaintance of this friendly hobbit.

A tall she-elf rode by the bunch, she stopped and looked at the
ranger and laughed. To see all the hobbits crowd around the
ranger was funny. "They seem to like you Ranger." the elf said
and smiled. "You ranger, are the first female mortal I've seen
and your crowed around hobbits!" the elf laughed and got off
her horse. The elf was dressed in green just like the Mirkwood men, her sholder length hair tied back and a couple strands
hanged in her face.

Looking at the extanded hand of the stranger the Hobbit quickly decided that this was a person who meant no harm, at least for the time being, and thus took it and gave a grand smile.
"I am Bramblerose Bunce of the Brockenborings, but everyone just calls me Bramble. And what may I call you, friend?"
Starting when a voice came from above them, the Hobbit looked up to the amazment of seeing one of the wise folk, an elf. Coming to her sences she politely asked: "We were just on our way to my home so that these two could warm up.. and perhaps their bellies too ... as I have a stew on the fire. Would it please ye to join us?"

The Elf laughed and bowed politely. "I would most enjoy having
a meal with little ones." she said. "My name is Tsuki, that's what
my kin call me, my real name would be to hard for you little
tongues to speak." Tsuki said and patted the hobbits head.

"And please call me Bramble"
After a bit of a walk the Hobbit lead the three others to a Hobbit home just outside a town. It was a typical home for Hobbits as it was mostly underground and following a little hill. Several round windows peeped through the sides of the hill and a large round green door welcoming all who felt like coming by. There was a garden that the group went through to come to the door that was filled with herb and flowers. Even in the fall there was a wonderful smell.
"Ye can let the horse stay in the field". The Hobbit pointed to a field that was on the other side of the road, where presently a few cows were grazing.
Coming inside the heated house the Hobbit got busy making food and drink ready. "Make yerselves at home. If ye go to yer right there should be a fire going... where ye can warm yerselves"

The food was almost ready, everyone was just about to sit down at the table when a knock startled them all. Bramble quickly hurried to the door and opened it. Outside stood Merimac.
"Bramble, I've brought over the taters ye requested from me." "I'll just leave em here on the porch, as I can see ye're busy." With that he put the potatoes down and turned to leave.
"Wait, Merimac" called Bramble. Merimac paused and turned, his face showing no emotion.
"Would ye like to stay and have dinner with us?" Bramble asked. "The more the merrier."
"Im sorry, miss, but I will not intrude on you and your friends." "Goodnight now." Merimac turned and left and Bramble quietly closed the door, looking one last time at Merimac's retreating figure.

Ducking her head as she entered the cozy hobbit hole, the ranger could see the fire burning brightly warming up the little cavern. Actually it wasn’t like a cave at all, and if one didn’t know better one could almost be in any sort of home. It was tastefully decorated, and Brin noticed these things as she followed the hobbit into the elegant, but homey dining room.
She found a seat next to Tsuki the elf, barely fitting her knees under the hobbit-sized table. She heard a knock at the door and could hear a masculine voice declaring, “Bramble, I’ve brought over the taters ye requested from me. I’ll just leave em here on the porch, as I can see ye’re busy.” Bramble was asking him to stay, but he declined her offer, and the door was shut behind him.
Brin mentioned to Bramble, “It’s too bad your friend wouldn’t stay to share the meal with us. Now it’s just us ladies.” She grinned at the little hobbit as the food was passes around. She inhaled deeply of all the wonderful scents. She could smell the yeasty scent of the fresh bread as the elven maid passed it to her. She helped herself to a piece of the freshly cut brown loaf, and then she passed it on to their hostess. Bramble had prepared a wonderful meal with fresh fruit and several meats and cheeses. They had their choice of ale or wine, and the ranger not having much of a tolerance for strong drink chose the blackberry cordial. It had a pleasantly sweet taste that complimented the hobbit’s fine meal.
“You are a wonderful cook, Bramble. It was so nice of you to invite a couple of strangers to share your hospitality.” She raised her glass to toast her hostess, “To new friends, may our friendship today be the start of a long and happy one.” She clinked her glass to those of her friends and took a sip with a merry twinkle in her bright green eyes.

The ranger nods in greeting to the little hobbit. "It seems our party is growning! Welcome little friend. My name is Brin, and I am a visitor to your realm. Your Shire is a nice change of pace. I'm learing that that focus of you hobbit's seems to be food, friends and general merriment. And you have lovely gardens as well."
The ranger finished her wine as a platter of fruit was brought in. She couldn't help herself and grinned with delight at the strawberries which wer her favorite, and not often in good supply. She popped a small red berry into her mouth and closed her eyes enjoying the sweet, mellow taste of the fruit.

"Welcome Melilot Bolger to my home! Come in! Come in!"
Leading the young hobbit into the room and removing her coat.
I'm Bramble and this is my home, please make yerself comfertable!"
"Since ye've come from the Prancing Pony I do not believe that you have been left in wanting when it concerns food, but please join us. (points to the fruit) And if you desire I have some bread and cheese in the kitchen."
"Watch yer head there mistress elf! All creatures cannot match you in height and these doors were made for us wee folk.... Here, have some tea and I'm sure that you will feel fine in a moment or two!"
Pours some tea for the poor elf and procedes to sit down and pick out an apple and then looks at the ranger.
"We do have a love for things that grow and tend to enjoy the moment. We might not be among the wisest in the land, but we know what we know. Have ye been on the road for a long time?"

"Aye", that I have the ranger nodded her head. A lock of red hair fell forward into her green eyes, and she haphazardly tucked behind a small ear. She grinned at the hobbit. "The Shire is exactly the change I need. The beautiful gardens the friendly short persons, and the lovely food is feeding my soul already.
You have very cozy home, dear Bramble. Do you live here by yourself?" The ranger offered to fetch the bread and cheese from the kitchint to allow the hostess to visit with her other guests. When the hobbit nodded the ranger stood ducked her head and quickly headed for the kitchen. The bread and cheese was waiting there on the counter just as the hobbit had said. She grabbed the tray and soon returned to the others.

Another knock at the door interupted the people inside. The door opened and a pretty young hobbit lass stood on the threshold. She looked upset. "Ex-excuse me, but I'm looking for my little brother Samkin. Have any of you seen him? I lost track of him and I can't find him anywhere!"
Her lower lip trembled.

The ranger stood up and scooted her chair back. She walked over to the door where a hobbit maid, who was clearly distraught was asking about her lost little brother. "If you would like I would be happy to help you find him. Where did you see him last?" She pat the young hobbit's shoulder comfortingly. "Don't worry. I'm sure he's alright. How old is he?"

Tsuki and Bramble talked to themselves and kept fairly quiet
about it until Tsuki looked down on the trembling hobbit.
Tsuki trembled and patted the hobbits head.
"The ranger and I will find him, what does he look like?" Tsuki
said and smiled. She looked at the ranger with kind eyes.
She started walking out of the door forgetting there was a
hanging light outside of door and hit her head on it.
"Second time I've done that, It's going to make my head bleed."
she mumbled to her self.

"He's kinda on the short side, about the human age of six, dark short brown hair, and he loves to talk. He also love adventure, and that's what I'm scared of, maybe he's gone off alone!"

Merimac was walking along back to his hobbit hole when he thought he heard a small voice in the forest on his left hand side.
Dismissing it as nothing, he carried on walking but then he heard it again. "Im sure I heard something," he muttered to himself. Deciding to investigate he turned off the road and plunged into the forest. As he walked the small voice sounded as if it got closer but he often had to change his direction to follow the voice directly.
Suddenly he came upon a clearing in the trees. In the middle of it a small hobbit was lying on the ground. He looked like he had been attacked. Merimac immediately rushed over to see if the small hobbit was alright. The hobbit was covered in bruises and had a cut along his right cheek. He appeared to be alive. Suddenly Merimac realised that he did not know where the boys attacker was. He slowly turned around and saw six hooded men surrounding him and the young hobbit.
