Of ithildin and elven rings - A Word Aside

[Dark Queen]

This RPG takes place many ages after all other tales of Middle-earth.

There is now a Dark Queen in Mordor (not me), and she has forged many rings - each set with a different gem - like her predecessor, Sauron. Three of the new rings are practically identical to the previous elven rings and are named (as the previous elven ones) Nenya, Narya and Vilya.

But, they (and the others) were stolen on the way to their recipients when the Dark Queen's evil hoardes were ambushed by the orcs that still live in the remains of Khazad-dum (that's where the 'ithildin' comes in).

It is our job, as the company elected for this quest, to recover these rings and return to our leader (the Dark Queen's opposition) with them. Should we succeed, we will each be gifted with a ring once their evil powers are dispelled and replaced with elvish magic. They will then protect and gift the wearer with the life span of an elf.

My character is Rothinzil, an elven sorceress. She does not have the life span of an elf, it was taken from her by dark magic. But she does still have a longer life and it is charmed, for it takes much evil to overwhelm her.

Once a ring is found it will be placed into the care of a member. They will be distributed in order of joining the RPG.

If you wish to join the RPG, post here with a brief outline of your character.
Once the RP is started and has been going for some time, it may not be possible to join. If you should wish to, please post here in the word aside and I will decide whether it will be possible to write your character in.
When I have about 5-6 characters in the RPG, I shall post saying that the RPG will be starting soon, so if anyone still wants to join once that is posted, they will not have long to do so.
And finally, I look forward to seeing you all in the RP.
(Oh, and you may be wondering how I can be Dungeon Master and have a character. It just means that my character will be the one to say when the bad creatures are approaching the group.)

I am a brave hobbit lass called Daisy Gamgee. From listening to the tales of my fore-father Sam, I have acquired a yearning for adventure myself. I am quite nervous of leaving The Shire, but my heart yearns to travel further afield. My steed is a rather stubborn donkey called Fred, and I am handy in the use of my small sword and the art of throwing fruit and veg. I also have a rather mis-placed sense of humour which is sometimes useful. I have a passion for jewels, and so would love to acquire a new ring. I could also use it as my dowry so that I could marry my true love, Frodo Took.

well I am Loravarnion Darkstone, an elf, more rugged in appearance than most, and quicker to anger than many. I have brown hair which brushes the tips of my shoulders and should be pictured with muddy, weather beaten clothes and three day stuble. I am skilled with all weapons, created by the hand of man, elf, dwarf or even orc. I am also skilled in many forms of hand to hand fighting, that being preffered by me above all other forms of combat. I have a small understanding of magick, but only use it when in dire need, as I feel that if we were meant to use magick, everyone would know how!
I have a young elf maiden under my protection, named Huornis, though she is several hundred years old, by human standards she appears around the age of 7 or 8.

He is skilled with both sword and crossbow, but prefers combat with his Elven longsword, Tindumegil, the Sword of Twilight. Duramir has journeyed much, and is fluent in many tongues, both ancient and modern. He seems dark, but is, at heart, very noble and trustworthy.

Greetings, Dark Queen! May I join?

My character is called Flenchel Gloaming. He appeared in Ithilien about ten years before the time of this tale: a vagabond, wretched and starving. It was rumoured that his home was far away to the north - perhaps even north of the Grey Mountains - and that there he had committed a murder, or some other wicked act, and been driven away from his people. But of his past, Gloaming would say little, and nobody was especially interested to learn anything about it. For some time he had lived as best he could in Ithilien, scorned by its inhabitants, and would probably have been driven away from that place were it not for a chance incident in which he had saved the life of the young child of the Prince. In gratitude, the Prince had rewarded Gloaming with shelter and employment (bearing messages, running errands and so on). Flenchel Gloaming served the Prince well and faithfully, it seemed, for many years, before being selected to go on this quest.

My character is Helleranin Silverstar, an elf from Mirkwood who has been in Middle-earth longer than most of the living elves. He's a natural born adventurer, never setting feet in one place for much time and always travelling and trying to discover all of ME's hidden secrets. Helleranin is kind and of good heart, but he likes to do more listening and observing than talking, and so he sometimes seems to be "distant" and not care about things. In combat, he is fierce and deadly. Weapon-wise, Helleranin feels more comfortable with a long bow and some arrows, but he is also skilled to expertise with a long sword. Helleranin is tall and with long blond hairs, his eyes are of a unusual tone of grey (that's why he's called Silverstar) and he always maintains an ellegant and respectfull pose.

I would be pleased if, in the RPG itself, some colors, such as the blue in the first post, will not be used, because they are hard to read.

Hello? I'm Dawnnamira Artanis Nerwen, a half-elf, born in Rivendell. My mother was a handmaiden to Celebrían, and my father was a man of Gondor. I was born about fifty years before Celebrían left for the Undying Lands. My mother left with her. I am now 1,769 years (mortal years) old.

I am skilled with swords, knives, daggers, tracking, and I have some minor healing skills. I have two swords, a dagger, twelve knives, and a bow and arrow.

My hair is black, with dark red highlights, (it reaches to my thighs). My eyes change color with my mood, and the pupils glow red when I'm mad.

Well, I wanna join the RPG, if you don't mind.

My charactor's name would be Thredith, and she has dark brown hair and eyes that almost seemed like black. She's human, and although her beauty is not remarkable as elves or such, she is pleasant enough, and at her neck is a necklace of entwined fine gold and silver with a rose as the locket, of elven made. She's highly skilled in archery and swordplay, and she is quite young, of 18 in age. Her height is about 5'5".

She has the gift of being able to move things with only her will. Her past was dark and sad, and she wished to only look in the future and survive. She is mysterious, many only know her as Morfae, dark spirit, and that it was known that to cross her path would lead to disasterous results, or sometimes death, since she despised the armies of the enemy.

Mae Govannen, I am an elf of the lineage of Fëanor. (my father was brother to the wife of Caranthir, our family departed Valinor and took part in the Kinslaying I admit). I am the protectoress of Maglor and a fighting feirce she-elf warrior. My wrath is easily provoked, though I tend to hide it better than my near relative. I am of arrogant bearing and not easily subdued, mentally of physically. I am skilled in the magic of my kind, especially in song, a very powerful magic in itself.

I am well over seven feet, and i can fight with either hand, courtesy of Maedhros' teaching. i am learned as the very wise in the customs and beleifs of my people, and apart from my wrath I am feircely and dangerously loyal, especially to the Fëanorians, in whose care I have been raised, my father and mother having been slain in the ships. i have a strongly moral code and am no traitor.

I am unusually tall, as I have said, and am slight besides my athletic build, I am agile, and my hair is waist length, black as night, and braided bacl with strands of red gauze. My eyes are grey green, and hard to look into for mortals. I am 2000 years old, and bear the appearance of a 16 year old mortal. i dress always in a long and fitted mithril shirt, and I fight bareheaded.

My weapon of choice is the double blade, longer and heavier than Mirkwoods's, and a former favorite of Maedhros'. I am unsurrpassably skilled with sword, but dislike the bow. I carry a dagger always.

By Maglor I am called Mellondil. My mother name is Narawen.
