Just wondering if anybody has read 'Magician' by Raymond E. Feist and what they thought of it? This is actually the first of 3 books in the Riftwar series. I thought it was one of the best books I've read apart from LOTR  Opinions?

I have to say I agree it's a fantastic book well worth reading more than once.

I'm interested in read the least number of books from these Series, but in a way that it would conclude all together and not make me want to read more and more...Therefore I bought "Magician: Apprentice" and only it, thinking that it's enough. But a couple of hours ago I read on a site that Magician is of two parts...is this true?!

'Magician' is the first book in the Riftwar trilogy, the second is 'Silverthorn' and the last is 'A Darkness at Sethanon'. So you might need to read all three ;)

Yeah, you can always expect a good read from Feist. I read the Riftwar series quite some time ago, but I still remember it well; which in my opinion is the mark of an excellent story. Anyways, I think what appealed to me most about Feist's, Magician, is that he modeled into it a sense of realism. Unlike some hack-and-slash fantasy sagas now a days, Feist seemed to have a much better understanding of feudalistic politics which gave his novels their own unique quality.

Okay everybody, I am 18 years old and I want to be a great magician. So I am looking for any school of magic. I don’t have any knowledge about the magic. I am also looking for somewhere that does not require any previous skill or knowledge in magic. Is there a school where you can learn to become a magician? Or is there any online course available? If so, Please let me know very soon.
