View Full Version : I don't suppose anyone's heard of LBA1/Relentless and LBA2/Twinsen's Odyssey?

They are quite old games, but remain among my favourite games of all time.
Little Big Adventure 1 (aka Relentless) is set on a planet called Twinsun, so called because it has two suns. There are four main races on Twinsun: the quetches (who all have ponytails), the rabibunnies (who look like large rodents), the grobos (who look like elephants walking on their hind legs), and the spheros (short and round characters). Twinsun has been taken over by Dr. Funfrock (an evil quetch), who has an army of clones to follow his orders. The player takes the role of Twinsen (note the 'e', not Twinsun), a quetch who has been throne into an asylum for opposing Funfrock. You start in the asylum, and have to escape and, eventually, as the story unfolds, defeat Funfrock.

Sorry, forgot about LBA2:blush: .
The second game opens on a calmer note than the first. Twinsun is now hailed as the saviour of his planet, the inhabitants of Twinsun now live in peace. After a few simple things you have to do, aliens land on Twinsun, claiming they come in peace...
You soon discover that their intentions are a little different, however, and you have to go to their home planet, Zeelich, which has four different races: the Sups (angular looking humans), the Mosquibees (giant insects), the Wannies (mole-like creatures) andthe Francos (they basically look like giant sausageslol). Not all of these characters are your enemies; you can explore some of the areas of Zeelich freely.

I suppose no one's heard of them then.:(
If you live in France, you've probably heard of them, but they had very little publicity in England and America.
They didn't really become popular, because they were odd games. The storyline was quite serious, and so was a lot of the music (which, by the way, is the best music I've ever heard in a game), but the sound effects were quite comical. I suppose that's what made LBA unique.
