Weird Problem...

I really hate to bring this up...but it might be a potential problem.

I recieved an update for a story in the FanFic section.

I clicked on the link and got this error message:

Invalid Link. If you followed a valid link please contact the Webmaster

Is anyone else having this problem?

I got a pm from Lady Luthien requesting that I delete that thread as she has started a the same fic under a different name.

I deleted the thread per her request and suggested that she contact one of the Fan Fic mods in the future so that they are are aware of what's going on.

Here are the contents of her request. Lady Luthien wrote on Today, at 02:24 PM:
I have changed my story so much that I posted the edited version in a different post, and I would like to delete the original un-edited one. Can you do that for me? The post I would like for you to delete is called My New Fiction: Continuation to LOTR: Untitled. My new post for the updated, edited version of my story is called My Fantasy Story( a continuation of LoTR); Untitled; but don't delete that one, just the original un-edited version please, thank you.

OK, well this is slightly different, but it's about fanfiction. Not the forum, the site's fanfiction, at this link :http://www.warofthering.net/fanfiction/

I like reading the fanfic, but I can never get up the first chapter. When I view the list of stories, I click on the title of the one I would like to read, and then I get a list of all the chapters in that story. So I click the title of the first chapter, but it only takes me back to the list of chapters again. Is there a reason why it does this? I asked Ceri if it was the same for her, but it isn't, so what can I do? I can get all the other chapters, but I don't like reading them without the beginning. None of it makes sense. And I have tried going to the second chapter and using the drop-down list of chapters to get the first one, but that just takes me to the list of chapters, too. Help please!! :grin:

Jeeekers....hmmm.....

Well..I went out and viewed this story here Colours. (http://www.warofthering.net/fanfiction/viewstory.php?sid=243)

Now...that is the link directly to the chapter list, and I was able to open and read the 1st one "Blue", and pop around and open various chapters as well.

One thing that I did notice, was that when in a particular chapter, there is a dropdown on the right hand side of the page that links to all of the other chapters including the story index. Is this available to you? Does it work for you? Can you get to chapter one that way?

Do you have a pop-up stopper switched on? Now I dunno if the links do point to a new window, but if so that might be the prob.

Ilu, I tried your link and it didn't work, I just got the list when I clicked on "Blue", same as always. That drop-down was what I meant. If I go into the second chapter or another, and try to use that list to get to the first, it just takes me back to the list of chapters.
