(I'm sorry if this seems innappropriate or obnoxious, but I really would like to get this out.)

After an extremely drainging morning of attempting to ease tensions on another board between not only the entire community, but between two certain individuals who were insulted by a rash PM from another, I return to WarortheRing.net to find such kindness and open friendship and commradery which warms my heart tremendously.

Upon visiting another board that usually remains quite calm in their literary discussion, I find one of the moderators themselves posting in a disrespectful manner. *Sigh* It is quite disconcerning.

But I log on and read the most recent posts by the various wonderful members of this board and a smile comes to my then very grim face. I would like to thank you all for you're wonderful attitudes, your immense compassion, and your good-natured humor that I find so very refreshing and a delight to hear.

we are indeed endeavoring to create a "family" atmosphere, (dysfuctional as it may be lol) and it's really the members themselves that deserve the credit for the attitude of the place.

It is good to find a place to rest one's head, one's feet, and cool one's throat! For me, summer is a bad time to join a new board. Will be around more in the Fall.

what lovely sentiments Oro....and im sorry that youve gotten into "Board Wars"....i know from experience how draining that can be.....as do others here, which is why there is such an emphasis placed on respect here...no one wants to go down that road....
I agree with Illu......a forum is only as good as its members, and we have excellent members...people who hold passionate beliefs, but who at the same time can accept that others may not share them...*laughs*... tho a little grudgingly perhaps...lol
I am glad that so many people feel at home here, and believe me, we are all working to keep it that way....:thumbs: :cool:

I just abandonded a Tolkien message board I'd been a member of for over four months. It was great at first, but some of the "regs" there developed a clique that made me feel uncomfortable, so I bailed. I couldn't deal with the rude & superior attitudes any longer.

Its really too bad. It used to be a fun site. :(

i whole heartedly agree! i almost made a new thread based on this very discussion. lol i'm so glad to be here. everyone is just lovely. even the moderators. i've been a part of at least three forums, and not once have i seen a disrespectful post, or thread here, as you so often find in other forums. very refreshing. and here i was worrying about how long it would take me to be accepted....by so many so fast. i do hope this "family" grows ever stronger, and kinder(if possible). and i can' wait to meet everyone. =)entdraught
