Fave racing game

What is your favourite racing game of all time? I prefer the cartoony racers as you can have more imaginative weapons, rather than the realistic, "Rally-style" games where it is pure driving skill. Some people may see the weapons as cheap, but I think they even out the odds for the weaker players. :)

What are yours? :) I've heard Gran Turismo is good, and I must say it looks impressive, but I've only watched, not actually played this game.

Any Gran Turismo game. :thumbs: For pure realism, they are some of the better racing games created. Although the not-so-serious racers like F-Zero X are a lot of fun also. :)

lol Wave racer, I sucked at playing that game! My fave is GT3, I thought that the little add on was a poor idea, but MGS2 did the same thing and that was poor. Anyways I hope the next instalment of GT will be cool.

My brother has Need for Speed 3 on the GameCube, and that looks like a pretty good game (has the added bonus of the cops, which makes it something different). The helicopters drop bombs and it looks hilarious hehe!

lol that sounds like a weird racing game in someways. Then again is it that weird? I mean the whole cop element appears in GTA games, but then again they're not racers.

The cops don't race with you, they try and stop you. They act as roadblocks and have my bro shouting at the TV (which is quite funny lol). The graphics are quite good and there are a lot of tracks available, so I recommend it to anyone :)

Yes, I've played the Star Wars racing games. Lots of fun. For hilarious levity, I like to play Super Bombad Racing. :jester:

I loved Diddy Kong Racing for the N64. It had good racing and an adventure mode where you 'quested" so cool.

DKR was indeed a great game - added so much more to the racing genre, with the idea of an "adventure" mode - those bosses were quite difficult too, especially that octopus! *shakes fist at octopus*

Gran Turismo 1 and 2 are my favourites, and of course mario kart :D

i love GTA Vice City, so cool grapihcs and hell funny story.....but ya i suppose it aint really a raceing gamelol

I like Midtown Madness 2 because I can cause choas and It isn't very realalistic and hard besides I love breaking lamp posts and mail boxes.

My favorite racing game is Mario Kart 64. Perhaps the best arcade racing game ever. Gran Turismo is great, too.
