I would have to say Aeglos, for that is the spear of Gil-Galad that defeated Sauron and buffered in thousands of years of peace...Or did it?

My favourite has to be Legolas's Lothlorien bow. It was that that shot the Nazguls beast from the sky

Hmm this will probably fit better at the smithy thread, but I can't move it.

I went for other becouse I think the swords, Feanor, the greatest smith amung all elves, made are the best.
Although I don't know if they are to be counted as weapons from Middle Earth for they were froged in Valinor.
If they are not to be counted it would be Anglachel later Gurthang, the black sword: it was made from metal which fell from the sky and could cut through all metal from Middle Earth.

well considering that this does not involve the use of weapons, but the opinion about them i will move it to the smithy:thumbs:

It's got to be Aeglos for me....Not just because of my love for the High King, but because it was a very powerful weapon...it must be very hard to wield too....

I voted for Narsil/Anduril, because it has influenced many important event in more histroical period (1st Age: hmm... I can't remember any particular event  BUT 2nd Age: the incident with Sauron's hand :naughty:, 3rd Age: participation in many battles from Helm's Deep to the Black Gates).
It has also a symbolic meaning for me: it symoblises the rebirth of a nation and a royal dynasty.

I agree with you Steve, beyond the specs or description and nature of a weapon in the books, bear in min dthat the presence of it made Sauron tremble, remember that when Aragorn shows himself with the Sword in the Palantir, it makes Sauron send his attack on Minas Tirith in haste, and perhaps that hastyness from Sauron was the only thing that saved Minas Tirith from falling, no other weapon in the books had such significance and symbolism as Narsil/Anduril.
