War of the RIng is one of my favorite Tolkien Sites... i browse everyday and it has effected me so much (and i'm sure a lot of us would agree upon this) hehe ;) :p
so i wonder whether or not it's a good idea to provide a link on top for our members and guests to vote for WOTR to be considered Tolkien Top 100...currently i see our site as #39, but really feel like it' should be Top 5 or 10 if not the best ;)

By putting the link somewhere noticeable, our members and guests can click it and vote for our site and we can have a little more recognition on the Web...
Not meant to be competitive, i just feel like we deserve to be (at least) among the Top Five or Ten ;) =) hehe

here's the link:

Personally, I think we are the best site whether we have the votes or not. And I have been to a lot of diff Tolkien related sites. Although you are right, Periantari Andruil, it would be nice to be higher on the list.

Yeah, well thing is we are, according to Alexa and our peers the 3rd busiest |Tolkein site on the Internet.

Now the top site thing we used when we first started. they are great fo rthat, but now we are established we do not promote it as we would be number one the whole time. So alittle unfair on smaller sites. Note you will see no torn, tolkienonline etc in the lists.

Plus most of the ones at number one are either cheating (compare hits on their site to clciks) or they are activly pushing the voting, which is fine.

So I left the link up in the about section but we will not be promoting it. But feel free to vote if you want to, always appreciated.

I hope that explains the position.

yeah it does =) thanks for telling... i do believe that some sites cheat..but i thought it would be nice to be higher in the ranking.. but it really doesn't matter...as long as we have members who post and guests who read... =) but WOTR does a great job and is one of the friendliest Tolkien forums
