Site Staff Indicator!

Hey Folks,

You may have noticed that some folks are now bearing the site logo, http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/images/sitestafflogo.jpg under their post counts.

The staff thought that it would be a good idea for regular members, and especially newer members to be able to easily identify who is staff here in the community.

We award our staff with custom titles, avatars, etc. as a way to compensate them for all the work that they do, and as such we don't use Moderator, Admin, etc. for their titles, but it has become apparent that for 1. it would be nice if a member could easily identify a staff member if he or she needed help with something, and 2. if a staff member has need to approach someone, this will let the person being approached know that it's member of the staff approaching them. Also, when viewing a person's profile, you will also see them identified as Staff. (for example "Profile For A! Elbereth - Staff". )

I am currently looking into making this image a 'clickable' image that will link directly to the "Forum Leaders" page which will further assist you in identifying just exactly what area each staff member is responsible for. Until then, you can view that page by just clicking on 'Forum Leaders' directly above the 'View New Posts' link.

We sincerely hope this addition will benefit both the Staff and the Community at large.

Very good idea. I have not had any probs (what a great and well behaved bunch we are :grin: ) but it is still nice to have instant recognition of who to go to if I needed to.

Aaahh!...at last!! a place where I can complain about these horrible conditions I live in...what?....you can't help me with this? How absurd! Well, I may complain about not being able to complain. In fact, Illu, it may be a good idea to just put a 'complain' button underneath Mod & Admin avatars as well. I mean, you just can't stop there. What about a button that checks to see whether or not you need a new pair of shoes or if you're feeling hungry...or thirsty even. Also, something to monitor people's moods I think would be good. I mean you can never tell, what with the people we talk to nowadays.....and another thing.........(grumble, grumble).....................................

Yes Las, you're quite right, but I have been a little seedy and so have been "on the wagon" and hanging on tightly for fear of falling...I had some funny looks from a couple of hobbits who didn't like the idea of an elf being soused to the gills. Very embarassing!

I'll take a look.....but I'm not really to keen on the coding part....

The idea is good but.......right now it's a simple image src link....I'm really not to enthused about trying to code an evaluation statement to pull that off....
