The language it is spoken in is the Black Speech of Mordor (whatever that may be), but I think its written in some ancient form of elvish.......?
Probably some more qualified people out there to answer this one....

Hmm i think it was written as Nessa says in Black Speech, a kind of debased mix of Quenya and Valorian...you can read whole essay on this stuff, the actual alphabet is tengwar i think. Does anyone have a link to a good article on this. Iread one before went into elaborate detail on this very subject,
thanks

yeah....the script was a decorative version of Tengwar....the language was black speech, as Fatty said, a debased language, derived in the main from Quenya......mmmm i think i know the article you mean Fatty, or one similar.......but i have no idea where i read it, so id be very interested to find a link to it as well....

Everyone is partially correct as far as I know. The language was derived from a mix of Quenya and whatever other language - I'm not quite sure of this. I did know before, and I'll be more than happy to look around again and let you know what I find. :)
