Is there anything in the works?? I think it would be very cool to have the maps from the books match up with the game.

I dont know of any LOTR based ones, i know about a Warcraft III one being brought out by Blizzard though

Apparently there is a LoTR MMORPG coming out, and it is called Middle Earth Online. You can play as hobbits, elves, dwarves and men but there are not that many details at the moment since the game is still in development.

Looks good, doesn't it! ;) I'll be getting this one for sure. I love the look of the hobbit holes, they look so realistic! Which race would you play as? I would probably play as a man, because they are my favourite race. I can imagine there being lots of elves!

I checked out the site for middle earth online, it looks awsome but its not going to be availible til late 2004. Sux, but hopefully when its released it will be everything I've hoped for. In the meantime I'm looking at a new game called Horizons which is going to be released in a couple of months. It looks really cool and you are able to roll play as a dragon. I'm going to need something to do whilst I wait for MEO. BTW I'll be a hobbit of course when MEO comes out.

Sounds cool, Ibilbol. I especially like the feature to be able to store your items in a house, and they promise non-linear gameplay, which should be a huge plus. :) Role-playing as a dragon sounds great - I'll check this out. ;)

yeah they do, i signed up there too. i haven't been there in a while, so i don't know the latest updates. from what i hear you can be an elf , a hobbit, or dwarf. i'm trying to decide between elf and hobbit. while everyone wants to be an elf, the hobbits aren'tgood at defence. and they have all of the shire, lothrin, isngard, forgorn, everywhere... please pardon my spelling mistakes.
