ok, so i finally found some sites on how to write in elvish/tengwar/sindarin whatever and the reason i been lookin was cuz i wanna get me a tattoo. well, now that i found the sites and got my stuff translated i can, but before i do so i need to make some descisions, ima put it on my wrist but i dunno which way i want it

1) one line, around the wrist
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|without the bitter the sweet aint as sweet|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|

2) 2 lines, inside wrist
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|------------without the bitter---------------------|
|---------the sweet aint as sweet--------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|

3)2 lines, one on each wrist
|-------------------------------| |--------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------| |--------------------------------------|
|-----without the bitter----| |--the sweet aint as sweeet--|
|-------------------------------| |--------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------| |--------------------------------------|

so? which one? i have a thing about symmetry, so odds are if i get something on one wrist ill need it on the other, so if i get one of the 1st 2 ima get "trying is the first step towards failure" on the other. hopefully since the **** is small and relatively easiy(most is just a single line) itll be cheap and i can get it both done this week. anyways, lemme know yer opeions

ps-i cant write here in enlvish fonts, so just imagine the words as the type on the ring

One line on each wrist will look better in my opinion...less cluttered, giving the tengwar more room...+ there's the one without the other thing which really applies to the two wrists...if you catch my drift...always a danger of ruining the message in case you sometime should need to amputate an arm...now I'm getting morbid I'll shut up!

Go for 1. Elvish looks nice when written in long lines continues lines, which rules out option 2. Option 3 is not good because the two lines belong together, and thus should be on the same wrist. Symmetry can later be achieved by taking another tattoo.

Also, don't put the tattoo on your wrist, but rather on your ankle or upper arm.

You're not a subscriber...so I guess you'll have to have them on a web-site and post the link...or you can mail your pics to someone who is a subscriber, so it can be uploaded in the photoforums...I don't have many pics in mine, so if they aren't too big I'll give you some space...PM me if you wanna do it!

I've been trying to think of something cool to write in Tengwar on myself, but I can't think of what to write. Something inspirational and hopeful, like, May the Valar protect you on your journey under the stars, or something like that, wrapped around tthe ankle. Or something in a ring on my foot. I dunno...I'm one of those people that just digs tattoos for the pain involved, ya know?

I'd love a tattoo...but I'm just too much of a wimp. If I had the courage to get one, I'd probably have something in Tengwar...May the Valar keep you on your path through the darkness perhaps, or something similar. I don't know.

Hey Grima, I can't find the piccie!

Is it “mennai i metta” or “tenna i metta”? In the pic I gave you in the other thread, it says “tenna i metta”, because that’s what you wrote!

yea, its "tenna i metta". thats the 100 % quenya spelling.

mennai is a different spelling of "until"

i think. you should help me and double check for me.
