Ok, here's the deal....my friend and I took the regular old Scrabble and went to Starbuck's and played "Tolkien Scrabble" or "LOTR Scrabble". You play with the general scoring and no abbreviations or diagonal words, but you MUST use ONLY words, places, things, or names from The LOTR or Silmarillion or any of the LOTR related books. You HAVE to be able to explain what it means and/or prove it's a real word from Tolkien if you're questioned by your challenger(s).
We spent about three hours playing one game the first try but those who know more would most likely go faster. It's a blast I tell you...a blast!!!
PS---I used not only "the books" for reference but also "The languages of Tolkien's middle earth" by Ruth S. Noel
Try it and let me know how it goes!!!
