Arwen, Elven Princes
September 14th,2002, 12:44 AM
Hehe, TCG stands for Trading Card Game.
But the game is great, though a little complex, for me at least, but once you learn it it's great.
Come on Lurtz, you were waiting for a reply and now you have some.
I've never seen you here before, so you must be new, any way

Hello arwen elven princesse do you need more then one deck to play? you sound like an expert so I thought you may be able to answer my qeustion.

September 14th,2002, 03:20 PM
No you don't need more than one deck, but my brother says that you can combin your decks and have a killer deck. How you do that I don't know.... I do have two decks and plan on getting more when the new ones come out, but I have not combined them.

WOW! SOMEONE POSTED IN MY FORUM!!!!!!!!! NO MORE TALKING TO MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to you guys who were talking about combining decks, its not really good cuz u want a slimmer deck so you get the cards you want...my newest, and seemingly strongest, is composed of 80 cards...
Arwen, Elven Princes
September 15th,2002, 09:42 PM
But I thought you were only aloud to have 72 cards, at least that's what smaugger told me.
Smaugger, where are you?
Mathew6

no u can have as many cards as you want as long as the good guy and bad guy cards are the same, and technicly to play each player must have a deck
Smaugger
September 16th,2002, 02:56 PM
No. You have to have: 31 Bad guys, 31 Good guys (Frodo is number 31),The One Ring, and 9 site cards, 72 cards.

Whats a good starter deck?
Smaugger
September 16th,2002, 09:32 PM
Well, there really isn't "Best deck" or " best starter deck"
just get what ever one you want.
But I like my Legolas Realms of the elf lords deck a lot. Of course i have upgraded it i bit, but the legolas in the deck is good.

No, you have to have 9 site cards, Frodo, the one ring, and as many Shadow cards as Fellowship cards. You can start with as many characters as you want provided their twilight cost together equals 4.
The minimum for a deck is 60, but the rules don't address a maximum # of cards. All it says is
Your draw deck must have at least 60 cards and
must have an equal number of Shadow cards and
Free Peoples cards,shuffled together.You may
not have any copies of The One Ring or sites in
your draw deck.
You may have up to four copies of each card title
(ignoring subtitles)in your draw deck.
You may have four copies of Aragorn,King in Exile
in your draw deck,or you may have two copies of
that card and two copies of Aragorn,Ranger of the
North. You may not have four copies of each of
those cards, since they have the same title (although
they have different subtitles).
Exception:Since one copy of Frodo is always part
of your fellowship, you may have only three
copies of Frodo in your draw deck.

umm amybe ur playing another tcg game cause i know i have 80 cards in my deck and many people have various numbers
El Ravager
September 18th,2002, 08:05 AM
Hey, Matthew. Yeah, I'v ebeen playing since it came out. :)
Arwen, where in the rulebook does it say that? I searched the thing for any reference to 72 cards, and came up with nothing. IT says that there is a sixty card minimum, but nothing about 72 cards. Granted, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's no max card number.
Lurtz
September 18th,2002, 02:22 PM
i know there is no max number...i asked a guy that is an official at the tournaments we go to, he works for decipher

September 19th,2002, 09:30 PM
Yeah, you all might be right, oh, well.
Hey, maybe it's because the rule books are different depending on which country you live in.
