I just watched the Special features on the Extended version Fotr for the 49 time... and man they are still as great!
you know.. some dvd's contains loads of boring material but these 2 dvd discs are really great.... They give you a really good idea of the Felleowship that was created in between the actors.. and i just love that, and it influenced the movie to.. they are not just "acting" to be friends... but they ARE friends and they care for eachother.. i really love The Special features... i hope the TTT EE are as great as FOTR EE...
What do you think of the special features?
:ring:    :)

Yeah I totally agree. I borrowed the EE dvd from a relative just so I could watch all the extra stuff. I loved how they showed all the wigs, and weaponry, and everything that they used for filming. I think its neat that you get to see the actors becoming friends during shooting, because some of them hadn't even heard of each other until Lord of the Rings. hehe Aren't special features great? ;)

Yeah, special features are cool, and they have some funny stuff 'em, too. I hope the TTT SE DVD has some good ones.

Yeah, the special features are great. I especially like the parts about how the actors "transform" into Hobbits and Elves (with the use of wigs, fake-ears, but also jewelry and special clothing) and the way they shot the movie and builded the locations.
Who would have thought about how many people like architects and artists and CG experts were needed to build Rivendell,
Lorien and all those other places. And the detail is stunning.
I'm looking forward to what the TTT extended DVD has to offer, when it comes to creating the people and places of Middle Earth.

Yeah... that's a good word for it .. Stunning.
If the EE - TTT is nearly half as good as EE - FOTR I will be glad... I always watch all the Special feat. everytime..

I can't believe how much work has gone into these movies! I'm glad they put all the documentaries and stuff on the DVDs, it makes a difference to see all the behind the scenes stuff. Does anyone else wish they'd been a part of making the movies? How cool would it be to be able to say you were a part of that?

I'm really looking forward to the cast and director's commentaries for TTT. You get a lot of background and insights there. But I was disappointed that Ian McKellan was not listed with the cast. He was a good 'leader' type personality on the FOTR commentary.
(I know Vani. I would have been happy to just be the Watergirl.)

Speaking of special features, I don't know if any of you have the cable channels that give you 'In Demand' movies. They now have TTT on there, but that is not relavent, since I would not pay the cable company to watch TTT when I already have the DVD, but, I just discovered that they also have two little 5 minute features on the LOTRs, and those are free. And they are not exact copies of any other feature or trailer that I have seen. Some parts of them are new bits!
