I look forward to secenes which deal with ents: some additions of Treebeard with Merry&Pippin (ent-draught!!!) and the huorns will also appear! :whoohoo:
I hope that PJ will correct the portrayal of ents. They've seemed to me a bit... block-headed (if it's a good term for it)

I think the Hourns seen will be great and add sum deapth to the battle of Helms Deep. Also when Pippin says " Ive always been taller then you" but the best seen I think will be of Boromir in Osgiliath.

I'd really love to know if anyone knows for sure, whether the scene of Eowyn fighting the Uruk-Hai in the caves is going to be in the TTT-SEE. It's the one scene I really want to see now.

Okay, according to a USA Today article I just read over at Tolkein Online (http://www.tolkienonline.com/docs/12089.html) they got to watch the TTT-SEE and these are some of the scenes included in the TTT-SEE (I'm still hoping for the Eowyn vs Uruk-Hai scene ;-)):

"... Other DVD additions to the middle tale that heighten the drama and lighten the mood:

? Rohan horseman Eomer (Karl Urban) finds his mortally wounded cousin Theodred and brings him home, where his subsequent death goes all but unnoticed by his spell-stunned father, King Theoden (Bernard Hill).

? The plight of Eowyn (Miranda Otto), Eomer's sister, deepens as she sings a mournful dirge during Theodred's funeral. Meanwhile, her unrequited passion for visiting warrior Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) is further inflamed when he tames an unruly horse by whispering sweet nothings in Elvish.

? There are more tree treats as the once-truncated encounter between ancient Treebeard the Ent and hobbits Pippin (Billy Boyd) and Merry (Dominic Monaghan) stretches its limbs. At one point, Treebeard's droning rumble of a voice causes the halflings in his branches to become drowsy.

? Jackson injects much fun with food and beverage. Eowyn, not especially deft in the kitchen, serves Aragorn a vile-looking bowl of homemade stew, which he politely chokes down. Boromir and Faramir share a couple of victory brews, and one declares in beer-ad fashion, "Today, life is good." Pippin and Merry greedily guzzle the magical elixir known as Ent-draught, adding inches to their wee stature.

The most surprising revelation in the longer Two Towers? That hale-and-hunksome Aragorn is 87 years old. Maybe it's something in that stew. "

Pretty-pretty please Peter can we have the scene of Eowyn fighting the Uruk!!!!!!!!? :D

Just noticed a thread in the WORn News section on this, so I thought I'd link it here too! More TWO TOWERS Deleted Scenes Revealed (http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4851).

mecry According to a French publication (http://www.elbakin.com/film/dossier_de_presse/ttt_dvd.htm) the scene of Eowyn fighting the Uruk isn't in there. Its says that rumour is "false" :(
I read someone somewhere else saying that since it wasn't in the book so they didn't want to see it. But there's so much in the movies that weren't in the books, and atleast this was in keeping with Eowyn's character. I so desperately wanted to see this scene. I think knowing that scene's not in the TTT-SEE dvd has just ruined my week :( ... no month ...

I'm really looking forward to the flashback scenes between Boromir and Faramir. I'm glad PJ chose to include a bit more about the relationship between the brothers.

I really wish they'd bring out the equivalent TTT-DVD as this:

And because Boromir is HOT! lol Oh wait, did I just say that out loud? Whoops!

Seriously though, I also am really looking forward to the extended scenes with Boromir and his brother. The little previews in the TTT DVD are soooo captivating.

I just hope he (PJ) doesn't stick us with any of that Arwen at Helm's Deep stuff. BLEEEECCCCHHH!

I read somewhere, (I think it was a link from the WOTR's news page), that there will be a scene with Legolas and Gimli "counting" their scores after the battle at Helms Deep. Has anyone else heard that? If so, that would be such a good scene, :). I can see it already......

I don't know if anyone else found this line funny, but I did. roflmao
I seem to remember the books making Aragorn's age fairly obvious. But then again not everyone has read the books.

Personally, I am looking forward to seeing Merry and Pippin in Orthanc after the Ents get through with it. There are a couple of shots to that effect in the preview for the Extended Edition that is on the normal edition.

More Saruman and Wormtongue scenes

Huorns at Helm's Deep
The conclusion of the competition between Gimli and Legolas

In the EE preview, Treebeard says of the Huorns "They have business with the orcs tonight...". I think he says that before he says "My business is with Isengard tonight. With the rock and stone.", because just before he says it you can see Pippin looking over at something off screen, possibly the Huorns on the move.

I can't wait to see the Huorns making mince meat of the orcs. :)

Yeh Ivyetta. I've heard of a scene where they tally up the scores. Actually I linked to that reference about 4 posts before yours, here's the link (http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4851). It'll fit perfectly with the earlier scenes in the theatrical edition where they start counting. It'll provide nice closure to that sequence.

Wait. You mean they've made books of the movies! ;) ;)
Wooow! lol
Seriously yeh Anoron its funny hearing stuff like that.

Yeh that's going to be pretty cool. I can't wait to see the extended edition and the bit I love the most is the chance of seeing on a whopping great big cinema screen with the cinema sound system and cinemaxx seating!

One scene I have not heard mentioned...anywhere...is that of Gandalfs fight with the Balrog...in Brian Sibleys 'Making the Trilogy' book; Alan Lee describes the scene where Gandalf fights the Balrog up the Endless Stairs!...the description of the stair is very, very impressive and I would think Peter would not miss out such a great scene...it would also make the fight scene complete...as we see them fall into water and then they are at the top of Durins Tower!...it would make sense that they planned on showing the ascent of the Endless Stair...the link between the two...

...but I have heard nothing of this scene being in the extended edition....it would be a welcome suprise if it is!

...has anyone got any info on this?

I saw TTT with a friend who hadn't read the books, and after the movie he asked how Gandalf and the Balrog got from the centre of the earth to the highest mountain. He thought that they must have fallen into some kind of portal or something.

I hope they show the fight on the Endless Stair when the Balrog has lost his flames. But I haven't heard anything about it, and it would seem to be a missing scene that PJ/Newline would advertise. Here's to hoping they will.

The 'creature of slime' is something I have been hoping for. I need to dig up a thread where I posted some slime balrog drawings...

Creature of Slime...?
This is new to me 'Saruman'...

Also people...does anyone think they will eventually release an ultimate extended edition...as it seems to me they're holding back on a few scenes...like the Balrog and also Eowyn fighting Uruk Hai...which don't look like being in this 40 minute extention...and I'm sure theres more 'Fellowship' scenes that they said could have been extended...

....just a thought.

I can't wait to see the Endless Stair. I think it'll be there. After all, did we know about that clip of Aragorn going over to get Merry and Pippin from getting Boromir and making Aragorn fall down? Did we know about the extra footage from the firsting meeting with Celeborn and Galadriel? Those things weren't in the preview, so I'm guessing there'll be lots of stuff in the TT Ext that we didn't see in its preview. (like endless stairs! lol)

I just hope they DO have the Eowyn-fights-in-Aglarond scene. (if I were Eowyn at HD, I wouldn't sit there the whole time getting squeezed to death by emotional women and children.)

ENTDRAUGHT!!! I can't wait!!!! HUORNS!!! ROPE ON CLIFFS! Dinally understanding what's up with Faramir!

Very optimistic Lady Ashley...

But those scenes that were extended in the fellowship were tiny compared to the effort to make the Endless Stair...my feelings are that they did plan on making it but due to the lack of time abandoned it...this is a very pessimistic view I know...

...but remember 'a pessimist is never disappointed'...

Lady Ashley
October 12th,2003, 04:23 AM
Yes, indeed, a pessimest is never disappointed, and you are right. But then,. why go to all that effort to leave it out even in the Ext? Heck, no, I would NOT leave it out. And it's once again a place to show off WETA's skills.

The Stone of Erech
October 12th,2003, 03:24 PM
Yes it would be a waste indeed...but if we're going to hope for the endless stair scene we might aswell hope they'll show how the h*ll Gandalf got off of the peak after he was "sent back"...
