His fair elven paleness in LOTR was beautifully gorgeously lovely (:drool: and best I think... hence my PLF club- see my siggy), but then I saw Will's tan in POTC and I died and went to heaven after comparing both pictures and realising he looks great with both skintones anyway. ;) Orlando has so many faces in films that it's hard to decide which one's best, tho I think Legolas. :grin:

Ah, KoH is abreviated for the Kingdom of Heaven; the film Orli's going to be in soon as Balian, a man who disobeys his father and goes travelling or something... can't remember... but he looks fantastic :love: We use KoH simply cos it's quicker lol

O.K., folks, this is stuff about the crusades/Balian from http://crusades.boisestate.edu/Outremer/32.htm. It should give a little background...Balian is a fascinating character. Although, obviously, he doesn't have a wife and children in the movie.

Only Saladin's reluctance to storm the city and initiate a massacre saved the defenders. On the 30th, Balian went out to negotiate.

Even as the battle proceeded, the two men talked. Balian was at least able to arrange terms, which were quite generous, given the situation. The city was to surrender unconditionally, but the Christians were allowed to buy their freedom: ten dinars for a man, five for a woman, one for a child. Seven thousand of the poor would be freed for a lump sum of thirty thousand dinars. Balian agreed.

The fighting stopped on October 1st; Saladin entered the city the next day.

Orlando does seem more mature, and I totally agree with what EP was saying...and I just have to rave again about how good his acting is getting...and PotC WAS a killer, for sure...although it's KoH that'll be my undoing. *swoon* Have I said all this before? Undoubtedly. Although yesterday evening I walked past our lamp and contemplated that its shade would make rather fetching headgear...but I blame that on the fact that it was rather late (and it IS a nice shade, really ;) )
