I've been wondering exactly where we would hold such a gathering. I know it would be differnt for every location, but still. Would it be at a park or a hotel, or what? Any ideas people?

Well...To me a park sounds like a better idea...

And parks are usually cheaper to get to meet in then hotels... ;)

Though I was wondering if a park would be very nice in the winter? At least it will be winter where I come from. :p

Wellllll.....for us folks on the west coast, there's been talk that having a WotR Gathering at Disneyland would be neat. :p

Well.. I suppose a park would be a little too cold in the winter...But, you know we don't have a winter to speak of in Kentucky! ;)

Anyways...

Disneyland would be awesome for a WoTR gathering...Too bad I'm not rich! :p

For the people who live in the UK, what about that exhibition at the science museum? I know it's not really good for a proper gathering, but we could meet up there. Or there's always the RotK premieres in december - I expect most people on wotr have a premier in their country.

well...i know that me and Pil are going to the TROTK premier in london and it would be cool if we could meet some people there....we attempted it last year and noone seemed to be going though...lol

I know I won't be going to a RotK premier, they're all too far away from where I live. Some people who posted in my other thread (the one that's in Events) were conserned that we would hold these events at the time of the premier, then they wouldn't be able to go to the gathering. I think we should hold these gatherings some time soon AFTER RotK comes out. That way we will all have something new and exciting to talk about while we're there. That's just my opinion though. Are we going to try and have all these events on the same day, or on different days? I know for a while we were thinking of doing them all on the same day, but that might be hard to organize.

In the suggestions forum there's a thread about making a map where you could see the location of every member. That would make your job alot easier.

Yes I saw that thread. But we don't have that map yet. Illu said he would look into it again. In the mean time this has been the most efficient way to do it. I've got a very large map of the world on my wall, and I'm putting a marker on it where ever a WotR member lives. I'm also keeping a more detailed record on my computer. It's working out pretty well so far.

Anyways...I think the events should be held on different days...Or, if they were held on the same days then we could try to get web cams and 'connect' as many of the gatherings as we can.

that sounds a very good idea, I know that another site I attend is planning exactly the same thing.....I cannot attend that one, my mother is having something planned then:(

Hey guys, this forum seems to be getting neglected. I have enough locations collected that people can start planing meetings in some areas. How about I post different threads for each location that has enough members. Then you guys can plan the meetings yourselves? What say you to that?

Maybe at the Palace of Auburn Hills, or the Pontiac Silver Dome, or maybe some recreation building in a park, like Green Acres Park in Hazel Park, in the Detroit area, or maybe Cobo Hall in Detroit, or maybe even a hall, you know a hall where they gather for weddings, or other events, like the Elks Club in Royal Oak, MI. I would Love to meet other LOTR Fans and even do some acting to act out my favorite characters!!! God Bless You All!!!!
