Suggestions for pirate games?

Yeah, well after watching POTC, I've been obssessed with pirates and it has recently manifested in the desire to play pirate based games. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for any good pirate games (preferably on PC or X-Box).

I've seen two that have appealed to me thus far- POTC (of course) and Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat. Are there any others? Any suggestions would be great!! :thumbs:

Monkey Island! :grin: They sell a package with all 4 games in - the first 2 look a little outdated but the 2nd two are fairly recent - they follow Guybrush Threepwood, a wannabe pirate! :thumbs:
POTC the game looks pretty good, you should enjoy that :)
There was also an old game simply called "Pirates!", where you controlled a ship and had to dock at ports to collect supplies, and had swordfights on deck...that was hilarious lol

I remember a PC game called Overboard, where you control a pirate ship and go across the sea and have many different weapons... some of it's very funny! I'm not sure if it's availble anymore.

As YayBoromir's said, the MI games are really good. It's actually quite funny, because the protagonist in POTC is similar to Guybrush Threepwood! lol

Hmmm..... I must find this Monkey Island..... I guess I'll have to drag one of my friends to the mall to check it out. Hopefully, it is within my price range!! ;) I'm going to force myself to wait with POTC- I've heard it's in the $40 range.... I'll just wait a couple of months to see if the price will go down.

You're welcome, Caligula! I saw the 3rd and 4th MI games down the shops this morning and they were £10 each (about $16) in the budget range :)
These games are good, but you won't get some of the "in-jokes" without the first two, which are harder to find :(

Did you know they are remaking the old game Pirates! The original Pirates! was made by sid some thing or other the guy behind Civilization I, II and III. Oh by the way you should get the monkey island games there real classics really hilarious.

That's great, Tary! Do you have a link to that news? "Pirates!" was one of my fave games when I was younger - I used to love the swordfights on deck! The noise it made when you were hit was really funny...*snigger snigger* lol I also like Civ, although I haven't played the 3rd one.

My parents don't like the whole 'buying off the internet' thing.... too worried about stolen identity and whatnot. So if I don't find the Monkey Island games at a store..... *sigh*

Awwww...that's a shame, Caligula :( they really are awesome games! Maybe you can ask around at your local video game stores - they are likely to have heard of them, they're quite well known...I've seen the games (especially the latest ones) in many stores.
