Look, I dunno whether you'd notice or not, but I have lrgible proof and as good as memory could serve me that the cinemetic version of TTT is different from the VCD/DVD version.

Excluding the romance part between Arwen and Aragorn (censorship in Malaysia is highly annoying) that is.

I noticed that certain scenes were included, extra ones, and certain ones are excluded. For example, in FOTR, there was a scene where Gandalf told Frodo to go as Mr. Underhill, but the scene was missing in the VCD and Extended VCD/DVD version.

In TTT, I noticed that some lines are longer or added... and well... aherm... little lady Eowyn is more evident in prominence. I have the pirated copy of TTT (from some buggers who sneaked home cam in the cinemas) to compare to it.

Anyone else can verify this and add more to the list? I've too much homework to do it all... so... =)

:p

I noticed a scene that is in the Trailer for TT and Im sure it was in the cinematic version but has not appeared in the DVD, well at least in mine. It is a scene with Arwen. She runs up to where Elrond is standing in this gazebo in a garden in rivendell and says "You have the gift of foresight, tell me what you see!"
I have never seen this scene while watching my TT dvd, although it's in the trailer.

That scene wasn't in the theatrical version or the DVD. I assume that it will be in the extended version. There were similar scenes in FotR that didn't appear in either version. I thing that they must have released trailers before the final cut was done.

I thought the 'Underhill' line in the Shire was not in the movie ever - because I felt that imbalance when I first saw it. Was it really in the theatrical? I thought it was just in the book.
The thing that was blatantly different were 'corrected' scenes, like the car dust trail and the Ringwraith coming out from the middle of the tree.

Oh yea. The line by Sam 'Were going to see the Elves' is in two different places, and the beautiful scene of Frodo and Sam stirring a campfire under a huge tree is gone - replaced by a different camping scene. Those were pretty obvious though - sorry.

I noticed that as well. And it's not just LOTR, its other films as well. It's weird!

referring to FOTR, when Gandalf is going across the bridge w/frodo at the Shire, in the theatrical, Frodo says something like 'What of the world, tell me everything" and gandalf says "quite curious for a hobbit" or something like that...but that got replaced w/ bilbo

I think that Arwen-scene is in the EE.

Gandalf most certainly did not mention the name Underhill in the theatrical version of The Fellowship of the Ring. I think you must have seen that in a pleasant dream...

*frown* I thought he did! I could swear he said that...*shrug*

I have it on good authority (so far) that Arwen in Rivendell "You have the gift of forsight" thing is NOT in the Ext. At least, so far...my, uh, source, hasn't finished watching the Ext. (the Ext having been accidently put on the book shelf at a store due to the fact that it looks like a book...

But then again, I---er, my source---could be wrong. heh heh We hasn't finished watching it, precious...*slaps hand on mouth and runs away* lol

There is said to be very little more Arwen in the EE. Only one extented scene I think(no new scene, but an already present one extended). Could be the "foresight" scene, could be something else. A very short addon in either way.
