Welcome Helm Hammerhand! B-e-autiful name!
The battle at Helm's Deep was indeed wonderful! It was similar to the battle in the book, and it really was wonderful to see all that action on full screen! :whoohoo:
I loved both book and movie battle equally!

I love both of them, but if I were to choose one I would prefer the book version. I'm sure Helms Deep will be better in TTT EE DVD when the Huorns get rid of the orcs in the end.

Yes Helm's Deep was extremely awesome, but just wait for ROTK, things are only going to get bigger and better.

Welcome H Hammerhead. I think that although the book version of Helms Deep was better than the movie, the special effects in the movie were great! They just blew me away! I can't wait to see the SE in ROTK.

Mae Govannen, HH.....may you enjoy your time here at WOTR.

As for which is better, book or movie, I like both. The book version is the one I've lived with for many many years. I've had my own vision of what HD should look like, and how the battle went. The movie gave my vision life, and while not all went as I had seen, it was truly wonderful! I look at them as companions, rather than alternate versions of the same story. I do have to say, however, that PJ's set of HD itself was AWESOME! It made my hair stand up it was so close to what I'd envisioned these past 30 years.

(and while I love HD, I will always be partial to the destruction of Isengard by the Ents. I have waited for that for 30 years, and sat smiling throughout the whole scene, I was sooooo happy to see it finally! Long live Treebeard)
