Isn't that supposed to be Dwarf-writing? Was Narsil made by Dwarfs? What does it say, anyway?

It says:
"The inscription down the length of the blade on both sides is in the Tolkien language of Quenya, written in the runes of Eregion, that say "Nányë Andúril i né Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i máli Mordórëo". This translates to "I am Andúril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me.""

The Sting inscription:
Maegnas aen estar nín - dagnir in yngyl im
'[the] sharp-point I am called - [the] slayer of spiders I [am].'
or less literally:
'Sting is my name, I am the spiders bane'

It makes sense that the runes of the Anduril blade are Dwarven as Narsil was forged by a dwarven smith...Telchar of Nogrod one of the greatest smiths in Middle Earth. He even created the Dragon helm of Dor-lomin. So perhaps we might imagine the elves paid tribute to the original creator of the sword by carving dwarven runes on it. Great idea of Ultimate Cutlery even if it isn't from the books.
The replica of Anduril is exquisite.

I think it's not true... There're 2 main alphabets in ME: Tengwar (e.g. the Ring-inscription) and Cirth. They're just an "external look" (I don't know any more appropriate english term, sorry :( ) of languages, so both of them can be used for Elvish languages.
You're right that dwarves use Cirth-alphabet and as far as I remember, it was also used by men and orcs...

What about the inscriptions on the Gate of Moria? was it Dwarven or Elvish? Can't... quite... remember... hmmmm.... have to brush up on LOTR lore again...
WHOA, Anduril is fabulous. Rushed out to put down an order for it right after I saw the pix.... always wanted a replica of Anduril or Glamdring, even though I did not know what they looked like from the books.
Now I get to wave the sword around and yell: THIS IS THE SWORD THAT WAS BROKEN!!!! heh
