I've seen mention of reviews in other threads, so I thought I would start this on here.
Lady Arien and I reviewed the DVD on Sat (before it was released of course :evilcool: ) and submitted our review to Fatty. It's still up in the news on the main page, but I thought I would post a link to it here for your perusal!!

Excellent job, unlike you I didn’t find any bloopers in the way of spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, in your review that is. It's a blow against professionalism when you can spot either, as such I will be looking forward to your Extended DVD review (unless of course I write one of my own), and yes I am one of those lucky enough to have a DVD player on my computer.
The best thing about the movie was its lack of Tom; I have an incensed hatred of that character. Hopefully, the Extended DVD will have more (hell any would suffice) scenes of the growing bond between Legolas and Gimli and Gimli's attachment to Galadriel.

What's wrong with Tom? :flamer:

I pre-ordered at Costo and it was delivered a week before the DVD came out!

In my opinion, the best quality of the DVD is the clarity of sound. I never knew the Ring did so much talking. I never relized that it spoke to Aragorn on Amon Hen:
"Aragorn ... Aragorn ... Elessaaaarrrrrr"
How cool was that?

Tom Bombadil was an excellent part of the story but I can see why they took it out. It doesn't support the main focus of the story much and would have taken up quite a bit of time.

the stupid thing is that they added some stuff but they could've used that time to keep the stuff in that was in the book.
