Who else has way too much time on their hands and has done some sort of LOTR theme on their computer?
 Pick me please!
I'm not into wallpapers, or anything, but boy have I got the sound scheme locked up! Every single sound my 'puter makes now is either LOTR or one of the actors. For example, when starting up or starting AOL, I hear Gandalf say "Speak friend and enter."
For new email, I hear Gimli say "Bless you, laddie!" When enlarging a window, I hear Merry's "That was good!" The only ones that aren't actually LOTR are my goodbye from AOL, which is a clip of Billy Boyd from one of his other shows, saying "Goodbye, God bless, thank you very much for coming." (I couldn't find an LOTR clip that perfect.) For the asterisk, close program, and exclamation sounds, I wanted a really short one, since they're the ones you hear most, so I found a clip of Billy from the extended footage giving this lovely evil laugh. Fantastic.
And, of course, for exiting Windows, I hear Bilbo say "And he lived happily ever after, to the end of his days." Oh, and somewhere I also have Dom's "Bishwop" bit, just cause it's too, too funny.
So who else has stuff like this?
(Please tell me I'm not the only one!)

No, Pip, I'm afraid I only have the wallpapers- which is NOT to say I wouldn't lol (but my foolish work computer has no sound card, and I'm not on enough at home to deal with it)

Just do a google search on LOTR sound clips...that's how I found all mine. I wish I could make my own, but thanks to the DVD-rom on my computer dying, I no longer have the technology. Some of them will be mp3 files, but you just resave it as a .wav file. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll try and find a way for you to do it.
I find it a lot of fun--and it keeps me smiling!

I change my wallpaper every month...right now it's the picture of the army with all the banners. I also change the screensaver to match. Right now, it says: 'The Journey ends. There can be no triumph without loss. No victory without suffering. No freedom without sacrifice.' Just to get all hyped up about December, that's all!

SF, I have a Mac also – a must for graphics people. Once upon a time, you could attach a sound to any
and everything, but now it's a bit more limited...though I suppose there's software to extend that functionality.
The thing is, all those trinkets really can keep your machine from running at optimum
(which is why a friend convinced me to adopt a more austere desktop).
BUT, you can download those .wav files – they will play in Quicktime for you.
Export them as a system sound file which you can then drop onto your
System folder to access. At least you can use a clip for an alert  I'm still a newbie at OSX, which is another story...

Thanks for helping me out, Amithrellas--I have a PC, so I had no idea how sounds work on a mac!
They're good for graphics, eh? In what way?
I don't use wallpapers, that's why I give myself free rein with the sounds. lol But I love playing around with and editing pictures--I just keep them in a folder, or they bog my computer down.

Wow, thank's Ami! I know, my dad is a graphic designer, so Macs are sorta required for his job, so all our computers at home are imacs :)...I will ask him about the sound files, because that would be so awesome if I could get Sam yelling "Noooooo!!!" as the alert on my laptop....lol ;)

I've tried making wallpapers, but I never end up liking them. I have a huge picture collection, thought, over 2000 pictures that are LotR or Orlando related.

Ok, sorry for doubleposting, but now I have some great soundclips on my comp too! :naughty:
When I turn on the comp, Haldir says "You have entered the realm of the Lady, you cannot turn back".
When I turn it off, Gollum says "We mussst go now?".
When someone logs into MSN, Pippin says "Don't talk to it Merry, don't encourage it!".
When someone writes anything to me on MSN, Aragorn says "Let's go hunt some orcs!" :naughty:
I also changed the font on everything, so now it's with Tolkien's letters!

I've made wallpapers, and I used to have a theme with icons for the desktop, but I use Windows XP now, so I don't have them on the desktop anymore, I didn't like them in the way of my wallpaper anyway. My screensaver is LOTR pictures, again Windows XP gives you the option of using your own images as a screensaver.:ring:

Try a site called Theme World.com
They have lots of LOTR wallpapers, desktop themes and screensavers, some with music. Just one word of warning though, there is a LOT of pop-ups on that site, and if you don't have a blocker they're pretty annoying!:ring:
