Well Sindarin, I relate to Hobbits, personally. I feel very Hobbitlike. Am short (though yes, not as short as actual hobbits; 5'2 is close enough in my opinion), a bit pudgy (but am aiming to lose it), love food (I mean, who doesn't?), live in setting which strongly resembles the Shire (hills, trees, streams, etc.), and all I want out of life is living in a comfortable home, eating yummy food, while sitting infront of a fire. Yes, very hobbitlike, indeed!

Elf first, then perhaps a Man of Numenor...

Hobbit! I like the simple things.... good food.... good parties, etc.

Almost look it, short, but would be a little thin for a hobbit, oh well!

Hobbit. I'm not that short, but I am a bit overweight, got big feet (although they're not hairy), I love food, I love to have fun and I don't need too much to have fun, except a few (or even just one) good friend. I love nature.

I do have parts of mortal man in me too though, for obvious reasons. :) But I'm not like an elf, or an orc for that matter.

So, hobbit first, mortal man second.

Elf....I think. I'm sorta the artsy-fartsy nature loving type. :elf:
Of course, some mornings I'm a little Orc-ish.

Hobbit for me for sure!!

I relate to them in so many ways!! (including hairy feet!!) lol Not too hairy, but mi lady loves to give me grief about my "hobbit toes".

I could just so see myself living in the Shire, maybe even taking an adventure or two. But to have a nice cozy little hole with plenty of windows and a garden woud be great.

Let's not forget having friends and family over regulary, telling stories, lauging and singing songs until the wee hours of the night!! Now that would be GRAND I think!!!

Oh and wait!! I eat quite much like a Hobbit!! I have my breakfast, then a second breakfast (usually a nanner) around 10:00, then lunch, then around 2 or 3, it's afternoonsies with a few pieces of fruit (peach, plum etc), and then onto dinner!! All of this the wife prepares(except breakfast) as she likes to keep her little "hobbit man" happy!! :p

Bonos-girl: "Do we need to know about his dietry-habits?"

Thought i'd put that in....it made me giggle... lol

I think it would be NICE to say elves...but anyone who has ever like...thrown away a nondegradable item...or gone in a car...or lived in a house...really doesn't relate all that well...

It's impossible to relate to the elves way of life. :battle:

i'd say i'm more like a hobbit.

cheery and smiling in the face of doom and a great lover of alcohol and food.

only thing is i'm double the height and probably half the shoe size. :)

Wouldn't it be so amazing to live the life of an elf for a day? Mind-blowing... :elfqueen:

VERY elven, I am totally aesthetic (one who is attracted to beauty, inner and outer, and who looks at things from an artistic perspective), my life is my faith, I am highly abnormal in that I actually enjoy learning more than school teaches lol
and I am natural to the point that it took three years of teendom before I started waring even a teensy bit of makeup!! lol

I said hobbit, because I'm small, I don't like adventures and I'm rather shy, and I love to eat. I'd rather live as an elf though. :)

Saruman

I'm probably most like a dwarf. Not that I look at all like one (I'm rather gaunt and pathetic-looking lol), but I am quite aloof and prefer to be working on something than lazing around. It's a pity dwarves aren't on there!

I know ;)......
more power to you Saru

and who says elves and dwarves can't get along....lol

lol It's just that I don't see the attraction of Elves. They came off as slightly too camp in the films, which didn't annoy me, but certainly amused me! :flamer:

o trust me, the amusement never ended, esp with Leggy always there to STOP ...pose......*dramatic delivery of meaningless prose*.....*scene resumes*

lol

"slightly too camp"?

now, the animated elves,,,,,,,,now that is a whole nother barrel of demented pickles.......

I don't mean to make myself sound like some beautiful elf maiden or greater being, but I think I relate to the elves the most simply b/c of my obsession with beauty(not personal or physical beauty...beauty in all aspects of life), and I love to sing, dance, and write poetry...which elves are known to excell in. Otherwise...I guess I'm a little like a hobbit...I love to have fun and eat and drink and I can be lazy at times lol

saaaaaaaame here!! lol
specially bout types of beauty
but I prefer lore to poetry ;)
well, depending on the author......guess there's just not enough poet's I like...me being so oldschool in taste! lol

August 10th,2004, 02:01 AM
well I like oldschool writing too lol In fact I'm not much for modern poetry..though it has grown on me since I've taken a creative writing class, mainly b/c I learned about cliches...and they're everywhere in older poetry so now I don't like it as much, but still a little more than modern poetry. I also love lore and prose ;)

awesomeness
i like Beowulf, even if I fell asleep reading JRRT's trans the first time (hey, I was only 11!!!)

ya.......... I'm like an elf in that I don't change, andI should have been born a looong time ago, my idea of romance is like, Victorian compared to even my more modest friends! And I feel like I am half post grad and half small child.....my only teen-ness are the occasional breakouts with my parents, which are always my fault (there, see, who says that?!?!) sheeesh

lol

yeah a hobbit because i eat too much and cant be bothered to do anything. i'm also too fat and like parties but i dont give away presents like your supposed to but hey. i dont smoke tho. I said Hobbit - although I'm a dreadful Elf-wannabe. I have hobbitish hair and (unfortunately) hobbitsh feet and love growing flowers and plants, but living in a tranquil place like Rivendell or Lothlorien holds much appeal to me. Not to mention the great clothes. Now if I could only grow a head of long hair.

I feel very drawn to elves, I think they're beautiful in every single aspect. They're wise and fair, I admire both things. Not that I think I'm both wise and beautiful but I feel I can relate to them, I'm rather quiet. But deep down I'm little hobbit, I enjoy sillyness and eating and just keeping things simple. It's a hard choice I must say.

I said elf, but in reality I think a balance of all things works best. ;)

I have to agree - an elven way of life is the most appealing to me as well. Lover of nature, beauty and art. :)

I'm thoroughly Hobbit, 4'11 1/2" tall, round, love green grass and tilled earth, lots of good food and ale, family, and if I wasn't a woman who took care of things...you know I had furry toes. :o

I really didn't expect to see the general amount like hobbit culture the best, I mean a see a *lot* of "pervy hobbit fanciers" (thats just so dang cute! ^.^ ) But I said elf, which I figured everyone would say. (not that I like being part of a majority, but I am what I am.) I agree, I dont' think I'm fair and wise, in fact, if I did, I'd be a butthead lol. Yet, I'm an elf in the sense I love nature, I feel at home anywhere, (therefore I have a wandering heart! hence my name) and I'd like the immortality for all the experiences one would have, yet, as I say "forever, is a very long time." Very interesting poll and surprising....
