Return of the King from Games workshop is coming out lat this week for the US release! I dont know about other players but I am really excited about it's release as well as the new rules and additions. I am really also excited about the plastic orc boxed sets! Finally! An army of orcs you can assemble cheaply, and quickly. the new men of Minas Tirith Also look pretty impressive. I'm most excited about the Knights of Gondor with their lances, +1 to wound without the -1 to roll! Also, if you notice in the set of boxed orcs you get 8 orcs with sheilds, 8 orcs with spears, 4 orcs with two-handed weapons, and 4 orcs with bows. At first I was really disappointed with the fact there sacrificed orcs with bows for orcs with two-handed weapons. After careful thought though, I realized a mixture of these deadly axe -men can be an extremely effective advantage, unless you're attacking a foe with an armor class of 6 or better! Write back and lets get this fourm up and running again!

Actually, neither of the boxed army sets do. I have here actual quotes to each boxed set:

The Return of The King: Forces of the Free People Army Set contains: 12 plastic Warriors of Rohan on foot, 6 plastic Riders of Rohan, 24 plastic Warriors of Minas Tirith on foot, one Captain of Minas Tirith, one Warrior of Minas Tirith Standard Bearer, 5 Knights of Minas Tirith, and mounted models of King Theoden, Faramir, and Eowyn .

The Return of The King: Forces of the Dark Lord Army Set contains: 24 plastic Mordor Orcs, one Mordor Orc Captain, one Mordor Orc Standard Bearer, 5 Orc Warg Riders, 6 Uruk-hai of Mordor, 6 Easterling Warriors, One Easterling Captain, one Easterling Warrior Standard Bearer, and 1 Mounted Ringwraith.

As you can see, in both sets they either barely break or dont meet fifty models. For the 120 USD price tag too you dont really save too much, it just makes building a mixed core army easier. But, either way I think I really like both sets. Also I should make note that later in early 2004 they will be making a "Siege of Gondor" Supplement, including a model of Boromir: Captain of the white tower, Orc Trackers, and there is some rumor of Citadel Guard miniatures too.

wow i've read about the RoTK sets before, but I didn't realises that they were going to do a supplement with Boromir in it. i think it's cool that they manage to still want to use a character which is half forgotten due to death in the previous books/films. That will be a must for bori fans.

yes, but unfortunately his stats didn't change, 6 might, 0 fate, 1 will. A powerful character in a game, but as soon as you deploy magic in the game, or don;t know how to use might, he is only as useful as a 55 point captain with a 120 point price tag.

Elladan

Easterlings are 7 points, fight:3, Strength:3, Defense: 5, Attack:1, Wounds:1, Courage:3, they can be given an Easterling Halbred (it acts as an elven blade anda SPEAR! ROCK ON!). They can also be given a banner for an additional 25 points. Do you play Elladan?

thats a pity about Boromir not having Fate, he should have it in since he has not come into contact with the Ring yetand been so viciously rocked by it.

Well, that is the reason for not having fate in the game, I mean, he is destined to die due to the ring's corrupting force (or another theroy, our own natural corruption brought out by the ring), therefore he should die after 4 wounds. If you also look at Gil-Galad's stats he has only 1 poit of fate too, equal to Boromir (though, I would rather perfer to use Gil-Galad, too many cool magical items to miss out on!).

yeh he is one cool mo'fo, a fight value that only the balrog and sauron can beat, prety good, oh and his excelent courage, and Aeglos and...............................................

i guess they must just think well they died so therefore they were fated too, so it wud be silly to give them fate to save there lives when they die
