About this Thread
There have been a lot of topics about LoTR games in the forum recently, and to prevent cluttering the forum with repeated topics, I have created this thread where you can post all related subjects about any upcoming LoTR game (WoTR, The Hobbit etc). I urge you to use this thread to prevent the forum from being cluttered. I have merged the LoTR threads so far into this thread
Thanks,
YB!
Now let's start with Iggy's insight into RoTK and The Hobbit! :)
I went up to the Playstation Experience in London on friday, which meant i got a sneaky play of lots of games which will be released in the future such as GT4, Zone of the Enders2 and Soul Caliber 2. I also saw a exclusive to the event mini movie of the up and coming Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as seeing the creator himself Mr Hideo Kojima comment on the game.
But the highlight of the event was my play on RoTK! It was such an awesome game! the grahics are much more smoother and fluid than the predecessor TTT. I happened to play with my brother, Cadoc, who also went to the event, as there is now the new edition of th co-op mode! Along with the fact the game play was less 'clostraphobic' the co-op was a much more enjoyable play. The addtion of 3 extra playable characters made a big difference. Now there is Frodo, Sam and Gandalf, as well as Gimli, Aragorn and Legolas. I chose Gandalf, and the chance to play as a wizard, which added the extra dimention of magic to the fighting. The settings are also more clearer, as well as being spacious, and the path to follow isn't so easily distinguished. meaning you have to actually run around to find the fight instead of it crossing your path. All in all, it was a much more enjoyable play!
I also happened across 'The Hobbit' which is made by a different company than that of RoTK. It really shows, as the game is made much differently. even though most of it is purposely so, it didn't have the same depth as RoTK. It's graphics are more aimed at younger children with bright colours and the classic cute cartoon effect of this type of platformer. Bilbo has bright blue eyes and roaring red hair, but is also very sweet! The large eyes just added to the 'aww' factor. Though this continues with all aspects of the game. eevn th 'baddies' such as wolves and Orcs, still carry the aww factor. The game play is simple with the usual 'collect the gems' routine'. Also frustrating as i took many a wolf bite, but one single flower managed to kill me in one attack on several occasions.
The whole day was a big sucess in my opinon, and I'm hoping to go back to the promised 'bigger event next year'. If not for the event, at least for the goody bag! It was worth more than the admission itself :D lol
