Ohtarien, I gotta say thats really scary! lol u like wolves, and you have a horse called moonlight (so pretty :) )lol I have a friend on another site known as moonlight, and she adores wolves. *starts x-files music* I like your title! lol I'd love to see any images you've created using PSP. I use it to draw mostly, but i realise that peeps do collages sometimes etc, do u do anything like that?

People...I have a PSP 5...not as fancy as your tools but all free so good to begin with. Can you advice me on what draw pad to get?

Oops...getting awfully off topic here...I promise I will get back on track...the minute someone has an answere for me hehehe:grin:

Whoops, we're getting pretty off topic here, sorry Illu! If a mod could please move these art discussions to a more appropriate forum that would probably be better. Thanks!

Hehe, that is pretty wierd Igtica... does she like languages too? Because if she does, then she definitely is one incredibly cool person! lol (Just joking) You can always tell her to come visit over here and find out some Quenya names! ;)

I have done a lot of coloring work on PSP7 - before I got a tablet (which is a computer drawing pad and pen) I mostly just found lineart on the internet from artists I liked and then colored it. I'd be happy to e-mail them to you if you'd like to see them. (Just PM with your e-mail address.) However, I'd be hesitant to post up that art in the forums because I don't have permission from the artists who drew the lineart. I suppose that I'll just have to get busy and scan in some of my own drawings if I want to post some of my art.

Cuiel - From personal experience, I really love my Wacom Graphire Tablet. At first it seemed really small (only 9cm x 12cm) but this doesn't hamper you at all once you get used to it. The Graphire is also the most affordable of the Wacom products, and it's perfect for someone who does art as a hobby. I'd only say you need to go bigger in the Wacom products if you do art professionally. (Hope that can help you!)

lol Igtica, a "drawing pad" is more technically called a "tablet". (At least I'm pretty sure that's what you mean Cuiel! :) ) It's a little electronic square pad that comes with an electronic pen - when you draw on the pad with the pen, it shows up on your computer.

Aw, dang! So you mean you're not going to post any of your own work up on WotR? Arrrrrrrgggg...

C'mon! Let's see it! You know you want to! ;) :)

Ah...well didn't know the correct term but you certainly understood what I was after, Ohtarien! Using PSP without a tablet is ok when you play with graphics, but if you wanna draw something yourself from scratch the mouse is just not good enough. Maybe I'm just not experienced enough...but as I don't have that much time on my hands I would really like to go for the easiest option! I'll look around if I can get a good deal on one...maybe even abroad!

Thanks for the tip!:) And I agree with Tiri...you just gotta show us your work!

...Sorry for the doubble post...just thought I'd say that in case someone wonders why I'm not moving this I have no power over this forum!

lol that makes sense! I was a little confused by the term draw pd thats all. Wow a tablet, i'd love to have a scanner let alone a tablet. All my doodles are drawn directly on PSP using a good old mouse (umm ok i put very little of my art up as it was up on the original photo forums, but i've been unsure whether to resubmit some onto the new, but it is up there if u wanna see. My latest piece will be up on the 13th for Mocha's bday ;) ).
lol maybe i'll have to persuade moonlight on here ;)

Anyways maybe we should contact a super mod or admin if your worried, as i agree we have gone very off the topic. But it could be left unless the question is whether you wish to continue this talk. (roflmao look at all the mods here and not one of us has the power ;) )

See Nessa...other folks are also confuzzled by the old and new photoforums...where was the old one at again...subscribers right? It's still there Igtica...can't remember exactly where but they've obviously hidden it so well us old ringers can't even find it!

Could perhaps the link get a bit more visible huh?

I'll copy my instructions up here hehe

If you click on the Subscriber link at the top of the forum page - not the home page the fourm page - between the shop and the About links, click on that, and tnen click on the Detailed Benefits List, find the bit on Photo Forum and click on the link.

The link for it is

Igtica: Yes, I thought we'd better move this because I'm definitely interested in continuing the discussion! ;)
(It wasn't a cleverly-hidden remark signalling any disinterest, if that's what you thought it might be! ;) lol )
I guess we'll just wait and see then if anyone thinks this discussion should be moved. :)

Well, I guess I might have to post up a bit of art... I'm e-mailing Igtica a couple of pictures, so I'll see what she thinks about them before I put them up for all to see. Wouldn't want to totally embarass myself! lol :p

I have been working on a picture of Mánalinya's horse Maenas (from Yayster's Pet Shop) but I really really need to do a background on it. Plain white is so.... plain. :p So I'll have to work on that - I wouldn't mind posting that because it's 100% original.

Oh cool, I looked at your dragon picture today Igtica - that is very pretty. And you do it all with a mouse? I'm impressed! I know that it's hard to get any precision at all with those things!
All I could find was the dragon picture though - do you have any more up on WotR? Because I'd be interested in looking at more!

Let us know when you post stuff, I'm anxious to see it ;) It's so fun to read everything you guys typed about this art stuff; I have a friend who is always talking about it and I never know what he was talking about, and now I do. So thanks

Glad that you can enjoy our chatting, Vani! Haha, isn't it funny how art-people can be so absent-minded sometimes? I often forget to explain the lingo I use when talking about art to my family... I have to remember to get my point across! And I won't even get started on art teachers - when they get into their work they talk in incomplete sentences and I'm positive that if someone walked in on them they'd be totally lost. (And/or think the art teacher insane. lol) But being equally absorbed, I find that I have no trouble at all understanding the mumblings! lol

Oh wow, you guys are very good at inspiring artists, do you know that? So much encouragement. I'll have to finish Mánalinya's picture soon - hopefully before Christmas. I know she wants to see it finished, and I'd love to post it.

Okay, after completing on of the most scary mod tricks I've ever had to do *wipes sweat from brow* this discussion is now where it is meant to be and you may proceede ;) you umm may want to change the title - slightly hehe, if you have any ideas then please pm me or combine them with a regular post thanks. Have fun.

Way to go Nessa! Thanks for moving the thread! Um... anyone have an idea for a name? Maybe something along the lines of "Tablet and Random Art Discussion" because we've talked a bit about tablets, and the rest has been pretty random. lol

Would people be interested in starting an art advice thread? I'd be interested in helping with a PSP7 tips and tricks thread - I've read quite a few online tutorials from other artists, and have learned a lot from them. It'd be fun to post helpful tips for others to check out. (And I'd love to hear others' advice!)

Also, what about having a thread for links to different artists? We could organize the links by the artist's genre - I have quite a few links that I could add.

Anyways, would anyone be interested in having threads along those subjects?

Nessa the Dancer
December 9th,2003, 01:11 AM
Poof the title is changed, it looks waaay better than my lame attempt - or rather the title I used to move it with lol

Wow now there's someone with an organised mind hehe
Well if you want to create the advice threads, I'll make 'em sticky for you, and the artists thread as well. Sounds good.
Be nice to have this place actually being used ;)

Alrighty, if you're interested I'll definitely try to get a good thread going, Cuiel. I'll try to start it later this evening!

And here's a reply to Bonos-Girl's post:

i woulda downloaded psp but i get disconnected every 2 hours so i couldn;t download it...like counterstrike....that is so frustrating! anyway...i ended up getting elements...which is cool...

Oh, I didn't know you could download PSP, BG! I just bought the CD-ROM from Staples. Hm, Elements.... I know I've heard of that program somewhere before. It sounds like it's pretty neat anyways! Too bad you don't have PSP though.... since that's what we'd like to start tutorials and stuff on. Maybe you'll have to start your own thread for Elements users! ;)

lol I got PSP7 really cheap from game in about July, maybe worth a look there BG! lol. Wow a thread by me...which i didn't create! I love thread splits!I don't get the chance to do them often though, lol forums are quiet! Anyways its cool we have our convo on here now, I 've seen Ohtarien's colouring and i've gotta say its superb! I really think u should put it up!

Just like it says in the title. Anyone like using photoshop to create blends, funny pics, etc?
I recently created a bootstrap bill blend in which i used a pic of will, gave him a few extra facial lines to make him look older, an earring, a headband, changed his lip shape, put on some eyeliner, made his hair longer, gave him a tiny Jack-style beard braid and gave him a bit more of a brow furrow. it was surprisingly effective- if ya know what you're doing! lol
I also like doing LOTR wallpapers for myself.
Anyone else do the photoshop thing?

Nessa the Dancer
June 17th,2004, 11:28 PM
In an effort to keep all photoshop etc related discussions together I'm merging these two threads since they both are general discussion.

As you see Onilalle you are not the only one who likes playing about achm I mean creating with this ;)

If you read this thread through and have a look at the Art Tutorials sticky you'll find others with the same intrest

Hmmm... I dunno how!
I'll have to sort that out! Thing is I am strapped for time as I'm going to be moving... (house I mean lol) so I'll have to do it when I've got more time after. If of course I know how to do links or post art on the gallery... oh well!

You can post in the art Gallery by sending your submissions, as an attachment in an email to our webmaster at Illuvatar@warofthering.net and he'll sort out a space for you.
