I have heard a lot of rumor's that Warner Bro. has the movie rights... So that is why Peter Jackson would'nt get his "hope's" up.. But maybe they got a little forward in the case and he is now being more posítve..
Anyone else has information?

United Arts has distribution rights to the movie.. and New Line has movie rights.. and New Line wants it all..

Hmm, I am not sure what you mean F69. New Line already have the rights to make the film, they got these with LotR from Tolkien Enterprises. But United Artists has distribution rights for a film version of The Hobbit. So as it stands New Line could make the film but not distribute. Since distribution is worth a fortune I would think they will have to stomp up hundreds of millions to United or reach a deal.
But both already have these rights so not as though someone is deciding to 'let' New Line do it or not, if you see what I mean.

Man, who would have known 40 years ago when they were signing Movie-rights contracts with Tolkien that they would be worth so much.... incredible..
