I wanna see Beorn, since he wasn't in the cartoon. Also, does anybody know if Legolas was at the Battle of Five Armies? He could at least have a cameo in Mirkwood, because he had to be alive.
I hope the Battle of Five Armies doesn't look like a bunch of pepper rolling around on a paper plate!!

ROFL!!!
hrmmm...Legolas should make a cameo, just for the heck of it...in the battle of five armies...he could be there, it might be interesting

I'd love to see the Smaug scene, of course, and the Unexpected Party, and the eagles, and mirkwood, and the trolls, and the Battle of the Five Armies (of course), and the Bilbo/Gollum scene, and all the stuff in the goblin caves...which reminds me, do you think they'd use the word goblin, since LOTR used orc it might be kind of confusing, wouldn't it. Yeah, Legolas should have a cameo either when they're in Mirkwood or at the Battle of the Five Armies. I'd also like to see Rivendell, and Bilbo and Gandalf going back and seeing the stone trolls, and the auction at the end, which the Gaffer would be in, since Hamfast had set him to keeping people off the gardens (it was gardens, wasn't it?), and I would like to see Lake Town, with the big feast, and the bird (what was it?) showing them the way into the mountain, oh heck, I want to see it all!! lol

I wanna see the scene where Bilbo and Smeagol are playing the riddle game... and Bilbo says... "What have I got in my pocket?" and Gollum is all... "What has it got in it's pocket, Precious?" :gollum:

The battle of 5 armies will be spectacular, ugh brilliant... the mirkwood scenes, the Rivendell scene, Gollum and Bilbo.... the riddle game will be so cool!

For some reason the scene about two elves getting drunk with the King's wine comes to mind.
It'll give an interesting new perspective towards the nature of elves.
Hobbit-wise I'd prefer the Smaug scene and the barrel scene.

With the full extent of the awesomeness of Shelob still yet to be revealed, I think the coolest thing will be the "Flies and Spiders" section. It will be so cool to see Bilbo(Ian Holm gets my vote, he can still pull it off, he's a perfect Bilbo)trick the spiders and then kick their butts. Awesome!

im with Luthien, i want to see it all. but especially the funny bits, the drunk elves, the barrels, bilbo getting all in a fluster and running out of his house without his hankerchief, an the Trolls fightng amongst eachother.
oh and of course the battle of the Five Armies(this is seperate form the funny bits) especially when Beorn comes running in and smashes the Goblins apart
wdnt it be cool if Legolas was the other Elf that got drunk on the wine

I would like to see the invisible Bilbo talk to Smaug. But the best part would be Bilbo and Gollum's riddle match! :)

I agree... It's a very pivotal part of the story. That's the part I'd like to see the most. (Especially the look on Gollum's face after he loses... Haha...)

Not a scene from The Hobbit (but related anyway), but I'd LOVE to see Gandalf's first meeting with the Dwarves (in Bree, I think), and how he came across the Key and the map. Also the scenes of the meeting in Dol Goldur with Saruman, Gandalf, and the rest of the Council. I think PJ could pull that off brilliantly.

...the Bilbo/Gollum riddling scene.:)
when Bilbo is confusing the spiders.
Also the drunk Elves, I too think that Legolas should be one of them!...and when Bilbo has a cold and says, "Tank u very buch"! (or somethin' like that)

I'd have to say the "riddles in the dark" scene too. That would be especially interesting to watch now that RotK is out, all those folks who hadn't read the book would be squirming in their seats.

I would love to see the dwarves pitching up at Bilbos house uninvited!

My favourite chapter in the book was "Riddles in the Dark". I read the book actually around the beginning or 2001, just before the release of The Fellowship in theatres. So that was a while ago. I also really liked "Unexpected Party". So that should be really cool. I'm almost fearing the encounter with the spiders in Mirkwood! I mean...a visiousis enough for me, but I'm brave! I'm a brave Hobbit! Umm...anyway, I would love it all!!!

My favorite line in the book is from the trolls...."Never heard of a Burahobbit before!" I want that to be there.

I also want to see the trolls turning to stone. It will be quite funny!

i agree lady Melanie. i really want to see that scene. I wish they had had the part in FOTR where pippin goes ahead and sees teh trolls and is all scared and galdalf is like, you fool hobbit, they're stone (something like that), especially since bilbo was telling that story at the party, that would have been a cool connection. And if they were thinking about doig teh hobbit at that point it would have been a really good way to connect it to LOTR.

Are you sure it was Gandalf? I don't think he was with them at that part of the book.
Lady Melanie
January 10th,2004, 11:32 PM
No, Gandalf wasn't with pippin and the rest at that point. It must have been Frodo who said something along those lines.

I just read that part in the book, and I don't think anyone says that, but Strider does hit one of the trolls with a stick.

January 11th,2004, 09:02 PM
Isnt it before they are in bree? Or is it in the old forest?
Earwen
January 12th,2004, 11:57 AM
It's after both the Old Forest and Bree. Strider is already with them, and they met him in Bree. They see the trolls after Frodo gets stabbed by the Witch King on Weathertop, while they were on their way to Rivendell.

Ok, I'm looking forward to seeing Smaug (Peter hasn't actually had a real live dragon up on screen yet) and seeing Gollum again too. Gollum with Bilbo... now that's a sight I'd love to see! Ooooh boy, they have to pick up Andy again! "Hey Andy! Um, theres something we forgot to tell you... your in the Hobbit too."
Just keep waiting, just keep waiting, just keep waiting waiting waiting. *Swims around like Dory from Nemo*
Oops! I'd better be careful, don't want the topic to be moved to the "Other Movies" forum! *Shriek*

If Andy played Gollum it would really be good. But basically there is noone else who can play him.
