I was translating some Tengwar that is seen in the FotR, and I thought it would be fun if I posted my findings here. I'm sure there are many of you who already know what a lot of the Tengwar in the movies say, but I also know there are a lot of you who don't. If you have translated some Tengwar from the movies or know of a translation, then please post them here.

I'll start:

This bit it written above the picture in Imladris of Isildur and Sauron. (The same picture that Boromir looks at just before he sees the Shards of Narsil). It is written in English Tengwar and it says "Isildur brings about the dounfall of Sauron on the solps of Orodruin." (And no, "solps" is not a typo on my part. It is written that way in the Tengwar! :o lol)

That is all I will post for now. Does anyone eles have any translations to share?

Exactly!! Er, is 'dounfall' a typo, or is that on there as well?

If they menat slops, that'd be more correct than slopes, since Tengwar is aphonetical writing system: When you say slopes, there is no e there, right? That way, dounfall is also more correct than downfall, I deem.

Yes but they didn't say "slops" they said "solps." They reversed the 'l' and the 'o'. That is what I was originally pointing out.

Yes. But where in the movie do you see the Tengwar over the picture up close enough to read it? I've tried to find it, but I can't. Is it at the Extended Edition appendices galleries?

I don't know, but there is a close-up picture of it in one of the Movie Guide books or one of the Making Of... books. I can't remember off the top of my head which one though.
