I didnt even know they were doing any dates....who's drumming?

Sadly im too poor to go to concerts these days....what a bummer!!! and the ticket prices here are astronomical....mainly due to the cost of transportation. think the cheapest ticket at the last Chilli Peppers show here was $98.00 nz.....ouch!!!

Ahh...Sorry Catz....but then the Peppers haven't been themselves for many a year now! lol

I do believe it's Alan White on drums as well!! :whoohoo:

My first concert ever was the YESSONGS tour in 1973 with the exact same line up, and with Donovan as a warm up!! I can still remember the opening with the laser cutting thru the curtain as The Firebird Suite was playing!!

Since then I've been to a kajillion concerts and have been back stage for few!!

Some of the best ones were: The Cult and Dramarama (love Dramara), The 1st Lalapalooza tour with Janes Addiction and Souxsie and The Bansees, Janes Addiction show at the Roxy when they recorded thier first album, The Sisters of Mercy and Mission shows that Lady Arien and I ahve gone to, and the list could go on!! lol

But now a word from other members.......roflmao

I haven't been to that many of late...being a huge Rush fan... i've seen them on every tour they've done here.... seen U2 a few times...Simple Minds... Genesis... Peter Gabriel...The Cult...UFO... Thin Lizzy... Ozzy....Robert Plant.... oh, loads of others.
Illu... you and Arien are SO lucky.... I would love to see Siouxsie and the Banshees...was a bit of a Goth myself;)

Illuvatar I am so jealous. I love Siouxsie & the Banshees!! Love Peter Murphy, too. *sigh* I have Cities in Dust playing in my head now. Ah, memories.

Speaking of Goth...
There's a small suburban community near me that commissioned a $140,000 study on its "teenage Goth culture." Apparently they want to find out if the Goth lifestyle is harmful to teenagers and the community. Oh brother. What a waste of money. Goth has been around for decades and now they're worried about it?

BTW...
I've also seen The Cult in concert. Way back in their Sanctuary days. Now I've dated myself.

Needless to say the show was EXCELLENT!!

This had to be the best Siouxsie show I've seen so far! Siouxsie had short hair and was in FULL MAKE-UP! The other times I've seen her has been without make-up.:p She had a new guitarist and he sooooo rocked! They played all the faves too, Cities In Dust, Israel, Christine, etc.

She even did her cover of "Trust In Me from the Jungle book. lol

Outstanding show:hooray: :hooray: :hooray: notworthy notworthy

The open band bit a big one, but Lady Arien and I had fun crowd watching (there was one Goth boy that had his hair done so that he looked like a cross between Flock of Seagulls and Eddie Munsterlol) we were calling him Eddie Seagull, we're sooo bad!

We also had fun picking out folks in the crowd that resembled our friends in FOTR. We saw Mr. Samwise in a trench-coat, and there was also several Aragorns, a couple of Galadriels, a Gandalf, and Arwen, a Legolas(and his boyfriend;)), and Gimli even made and appearance as one of the bouncers!

Definite good time!!

Oops... it's been over a week.... but the Nickelback gig was absolutely amazing! I was right at the front against the barrier stage left. Had the most fantastic view. The support band was Span... no, i'd never heard of them either... but they rocked!! Nickelback were brilliant... really played tightly.... and we all had a b****y good time. And for those out there with a "thing" for young Chad Kroeger... i was a mere 6 feet away from him most of the night!!:naughty:

Up next.... as most will know by now - considering my musings elsewhere - i'm off to see Korn and Puddle of Mudd. REALLY looking forward to that one.... Puddle of Mudd are excellent....but Korn...just incredible... *sighs* ... ah well.... just nobody mention Jonathan Davis and leather kilt in the same sentence too often!!;) :naughty: :naughty: lol lol

I guess Illuvator must be about my age.
I got to see YES about a month ago also, here in the midwest. A friend of my was able to get free tickets. It WAS nice to see Rick Wakeman back again. (He could have passed for Legolas back in the 70's, huh?) Anyway, I saw them twice before, in the 70's, once in Hawaii and once in Portland, OR. I loved 'Fragile' and 'Close to the Edge.'

YES was an outstanding show this time! And I agree, it was great to see Rick back, and with his same multi-keyboard set up even! It was so kewl! You could see that he was nervous a bit, but several times after pulling something off like during his solo, he would look up and smile. Then of course the crowd went nuts!

They played all my favorites from the YESSONGS concert I saw in 73, and a few new ones as well!

It was so good to see the love that they still have for the music and the love that the fans have for them as well! At one point Jon came out and played a solo song and dedicated it to his wife in the front row, after it was done she went back stage and you could see her back there dancing and banging on cow bell during Close to the Edge, and several times either at the end of a song or during even, he would run over to where she was a pick her up and spin her around! :p Way kewl!

Hey Miruvor! Age or not.....

I am very proud to be a fan of a band like YES, who's music is STILL ahead of it's time....20 years after I saw them the first time!

Yeah, it was, except his hair is cut! ( mecry Boy am, I superficial, or what? )
Oh well, I guess we all grow up some day. I also have the '85 soundtrack to Fritz Lang's Metropolis, on which Jon Anderson has some original music. Have you heard it?
The concert I saw was at an outdoor theater under the stars and sitting in the grass. Very nice.

No, haven't heard that one.

We saw them at the Universal Ampitheatre in Hollywood. Inside, but still a great venue. :p

OK... so its been a while.... but i'm back now!!!

Went to see Korn, Puddle of Mudd and Trust Company at the SECC in Glasgow. .... had THE best time.
Trust Company are an excellent band if you like a bit of Nu Metal with melody... worked the crowd really well and set the atmosphere.

I was really looking forward to seeing Puddle Of Mudd.... "Come Clean" is one of my favourite albums... but i can honestly say that i've never been so disappointed in a band before. They were trite... going through the motions.... tho the drummer was fantastic...and Wes Scantlin took a spite at a girl in the front who had flipped him the finger... and he spent the rest of their set changing lyrics and inserting a stream of the filthiest abuse i've ever heard. SO disappointing.

Korn on the other hand were just awesome. I discovered Korn pretty late... but i was really looking forward to this. They did what I like bands to do.... nothing showy... just got up and played...solidly for about 100 minutes. I think Jonathan Davis spoke twice. It was all about the music and the fans. We had a ball. Excellent concave video wall behind the band with live concert footage projected on it along with unsettling images. SO well done. The place errupted when Jonathan played the bagpipes and came on in....... the leather kilt!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was there with a couple of guys from a band i manage.... one...who likes a range of music... said it was the best gig he'd ever seen. I've seen a lot of bands ... but i had to agree. They were peerless.
