How long should the hobbit be?

Ok I know its not a movie yet but if it does become a movie how long do you think it should be.

I voted for the last option. Hopefully a film version of "The Hobbit" would be 3 hours.

I agree with Saruman. I think a series would work much better than a movie. So failing that, it should be as long as possible lol

well i think it would be nice to have a movie. remember guys a series will not have as much money as a movie. what ever it is I want it to be as good as PJ movies :thumbs:

well... it's deff more a series material... but series don't make much money and usually don't get much money to make... and there's lots of make up CGG etc etc in TH

As a single movie... maybe 3 full hours would be a bit on the long side... can't really keep the attention that long... well if you ask me, I can watch 4 hours as well, but that's not the general public (-:

The movie could last 3 hours, all that it takes to keep ppl attention is a good history. Most of us would have be even 5 hours in the ROTK if it would be that long. In fact i hope ROTK EE woould be about 5 hours roflmao :elfeek: :stomper:

it should be as long as it needs to be in order to get it right. if they structure it well then it should be gripping but not short. if they decide to make t long and it's not emotional enough then it will stink. so it depends on what they're going to do with it...
...if they do anything with it at all.

Definately 3 hours!!! If its 2 hours or even 1 and a half, the story wont be told properly and will probably be pathetic!

I think the quality of the movie is more important... It should be as long as it takes to include all the relevant stuff, but it shouldn't be so long as to bore the audience (especially if they're going to include scenes that were not from the book).
