For those who saw the movie first, basing on how you imagine the characters, who do you think you will fall inlove with?

I saw the movie first, and i fell inlove with Legolas
but when i finished reading the 3 books I found out I love Faramir more than Legolas.

For those who read the books first before the movie, who do you like?;) just curious...

I didn't fall in love with Frodo, or to be completely honest, give him a passing thought until I had read all three books. I noticed his prettiness in the movie, but I felt virtually nothing for him until I after reading the trilogy.

This is a very interesting subject, I wonder sometimes if the only reason people are obsessed with characters is how the actors who portray them look..... (especially regarding Legolas).... but I would love to be proven wrong! :)

I didn't read them first, but I would like to comment to Nessa's post. Since of course you all know (or should know) that I like Frodo, I have different feelings between the actor who played Frodo, and Frodo himself. I actually like Frodo better in ROTK, and I haven't seen any of Frodo in that...

Elbereth, I certainly hope you didn't take any offense to my post. I didn't mean any towards anyone. I was just curious if people were swooning over characters or actors or a nice combination of both.

I won't lie and say Elijah Wood being so pretty hurts how I feel about Frodo......... I just wanted to mention I didn't love him until I finished the books. :)

i don't really remember who i liked from first seeing the film, but once i read the book, i realised that aragorn was a pretty likeable character, and then watching the film again, i discovered aragorn in the film was sexy as well, and theres better stuff to come!!

Aragorn (but actually I wouldn't picture him that way), but looks is not all that counts after all

I agree. I like the ugly-duckling Aragorn in the books better. I also like movie Aragorn though, because Viggo is hot. I know how to pick my guys though, because my favorite characters in the books were Legolas and Aragorn, and both in the movie look just fine, so I can't complain! My other favorites are Galadriel and Gandalf, and they were both done magnificently in the movie. I was so excited when I first saw the movie and they entered Lothlorien. I think I actually like Ian McKellen's Gandalf better than book Gandalf, because he is exactly the same, only he gets bonus points for me actually getting to see him. Does that make sense?

lots of sense ok so I've only seen the movie (maybe I should read the books since I'm prob the only person in here who hasn't) But even though legolas is cute I love his character and it's not all about the looks he's just like I don't know brave, smart and you know major kick butt action although the looks totally help I also like aragorns character I think he is such a goog good guy just so good you know
