Dark Queen
August 15th,2002, 12:38 PM
In a darkened corner of a crowded inn sat Rothinzil, an elven sorceress. She had ridden hard all day, and now she was in need of rest, as was her horse, Erian.

"I wonder how long it will take my companions to find me," she thought as she sat.

Her mental question was soon answered by a, not necessarily accurate, vision.

A familiar hobbit lass skipped in through the door after stabling Fred, her donkey. It was Daisy Gamgee. She caught sight of Rothinzil in the corner, and sneaked across to the table. While she was talking an elf entered the inn. He was more rugged than most. Rothinzil recognised him as being Loravarnion Darkstone, another member of the company. He saw the hobbit and sorceress and shortly joined them. After a while another familiar face entered and walked over to the group. She introduced herself as being Elanath Nassnedlim from Rohan as she took a seat at the table. Next to appear was Firith Evenstar, an elf-maiden from Rivendell, She had ridden hard from Rivendell on her horse, Minuial. With all but one member of the company arrived, Rothinzil was looking around the inn trying to locate the missing Dúnedain. She spotted Duramir sitting in the opposite corner to the company. She discreetly waved him across to their table, and he took the remaining seat. Suddenly, a figure appeared in the doorway to the inn, and stared at the group. It was Flenchel Gloaming. He walked over to the table, and pulled up a chair.

"So..." somebody said, snapping her back to the inn and the present in the middle of her vision.

As Rothinzil looked up, she saw Duramir, cloaked in black.
"So... mind if I sit?" He asked; Rothinzil nodded, and Duramir took a seat in the shadow of the corner.
"When will the others arrive?"

"I wish I knew," Rothinzil replied to Duramir's query.

They sat in the shadowed corner of the inn in silence for some time, until Rothinzil spoke once more.

"Another member of our company may be on their way," she said as she watched the door.

Helleranin stepped in the inn and soon spotted Rothinzil and Duramir sitting in a table in the far corner. He glanced at the rest of the inn, searching for any other familiar face, but he saw none, so he walked towards his companions.

As he sat down, he looked to Rothinzil and Duramir and said in an ellegant and polite tone - Greetings my friends. How are we today?

*takes the drink the bar keep has offered her and smiles*

"Welcome sliverstar. hope your journey here was pleasant. " She smiled the rest of her companions.

"I do hope the rest of the company arrives soon."

- Indeed, it was a pleasant journey, despite an encounter with a small group of orcs a week ago. - Said Hellranin to Firith, as if the encounter with orcs had no bigger meaning than a rainy day in the middle of spring.

Helleranin continued to talk with Fitith, a beautifull elven maiden who would stand out even in the middle of dozens and dozens of elven maidens. In the middle of the semi-crowded inn, they talked only about small issues, as their most urgent concern was in the arrival of the other members of the party...

Elenath the lovely maiden from Rohan stepped softly through the doors of the inn. Her smile was that of a cheerful child, though her age was near 20 years and 4. In she strolled, eyeing the people within, searching for the group she was to meet up with. Soon she saw them. "I trust I have made it to the correct place," her musical voice chimed as she approached the table.

- Indeed, this is the right place. That is if you are here to discuss the finding and recovering of some valuable missing "items". - Helleranin pushed a chair and asked Elenath to sit down and join them.

Elenath sat down and taled with them a bit, as they all awaited for the arrival of the last members of the party.

Time passed by, and soon the sun went down and the moon went up. From the afternoon to the evening, and then to the night, and nobody else appeared. The group became uncomfortable as time slipped by.

Finally, as the inn became crowded with the usual night customers, Helleranin approached Rothinzil and said - So, we have been here for a long time. How much more will we wait to discuss our issues before the others arrive?

Rothinzil had welcomed Elenath as she had approached the group, and had sat quiet for some time watching the door.

Rothinzil was also wondering where her other companions were. She answered Helleranin's question after a moments thought.

"I do not know. But we can do little without them. This quest is the job of us all, and we would not all have been appointed to it had it not needed all of us." she said, "So we must wait until they arrive, however long that may be."

Mirandor slid out of the shadows and greeted the supprised company.
"Greetings my friends, I am sorry that I made you wait. I have been thinking to the question of whether or not I shall go. I have decided that I shall go," Mirador stated in his kind but authoritative voice.

"Glad you decided to join us, Mirandor," Rothinzil said to the elf.

She looks around the inn, wondering where her other companions are.

"Any sign of the others?" she asked the group.

Loravarnion Darkstone
August 31st,2002, 09:46 AM
The door to the inn was pushed open and in walked a young girl of the age of 7 or 8. Several heads turned to look at the child as she gracefully swept through the legs. Her hair was long and blonde and held in many braids the back of her head was coverred with a small cap of silver lace, netted with many gems which shone white. Her dress was of deep blue and woven from satin. The sleeves of this dress hung low to the ground and were of a paler, baby blue and spun from a material that was slightly see-through. very fair was her young face, and though she had no expression on her face, those who looked at her percieved that she was always smiling inwardly, yet at the same time burdened with great worries and an even greater task. Her eyes held the timeless glint of her heritage and matched her dress, in colour. An elf she was, albeit younger than most seen yet older than any living mortal. Huornis was her name, translated it meant courage woman, for she was a heavenly gift to her people. great things she was destined to do, and thus was wanted dead by the enemy. At her birth, she was appointed a guardian, to keep the enemy from her, and to teach her of her destiny and the ways of the world. Already she was wiser than most of the oldest elves, for though she was now in a physical body, that was not always so. Nurissel was her true name, the angel of light. In the beggining, Luak the great enemy had defeated her and imprisoned her within an amulet. Passed down for thousands of years by thousands of species, the amulet had at last come to her parents, Eldatur and Eruanna. Eldatur, her father had worn the amulet when he lay with his wife, and through their coupling, Eruanna had fallen pregnant with the gift of Nurissel. when she was born, she was named Huornis, for both parents knew that she was Nurissel re-born and were aware of the burden on her shoulders.
She arrived at the table and finally her face broke into a smile, and all who looked at her where contented for it radiated warmth to look upon.
"The Darkstone will follow shortly, for now he told me to come in here and let be known that he is here and unharmed. I must apologise for our lateness but many things have befallen us on our journey tither and Darkstone must first set some affairs in order."
At this the door opened once more and a tall and ruggedly handsome man walked in. He was rugged in appearence with three day stubble upon his chin and stiff, dirty clothes suited for riding in cold and wet conditions. Even as he strode in he sheathed a long, curved blade with inscriptions carved upon the blade in a different tongue. This and a glimpse of pointed ears beneath his shoulder length brown hair betrayed his heritage as elvish. As he came closer to the company, they notice the deep thoughtful look in his grey eyes and the graceful step to his stride.
As he approached the table he gave a short, sharp nod, a surly look upon his face and sat down, resting Huornis upon his knee

Rothinzil had watched the child and then the man approach and sit down in silence, but now she spoke.

"Welcome Darkstone and Huornis," she said, "we are very pleased to see more of our small group arrive. Did you see any sign of the others upon the road?"

Rothinil looked at the small group of travellers around the table, and smiled to herself. They were all so very different, but all possessed talents vital to their mission, that was why they were all here. As soon as the last few arrived, they would be leaving the comfort of the inn, and setting about the task they all knew so much about.

A graceful, tall, and fair human walks in. She is descended from Faramir of Ithilien and Eowyn of Rohan, inheriting through her father the land of Ithilien. But now danger threatens to overtake that land, and she therefore sets off on a quest of her own.

"Greeting, friends, I trust I am not too late.

"I am skilled in the art of healing and fair in the use of a sword, though I carry one not. I hope to help.

"And we should move. The Enemy is moving. She will not wait for us."

Firith greeted the newly arrived travelers warmly. She looked over at young Huornis and smiled saying, "Ömentďe herínce. Mándö lelya lenëda." The young girl smiled. Firith looked up at Darkstone with a glint in her eyes, and continued to converse with the others.

Luinwen slips through the door quickly, desperately searching around the room for the large gathering of people she has come to see. Unfortunately, there are many of them. Hestantly, she drifts towards the group closest to her and asks, "Are you the company I have travelled far to speak with? I am Luinwen, I hope i am not that late." Luckily, the company turns towards her with friendly eyes, and she knows she has found the right people. "So, have I missed anything important?"

Rothinzil looked around at the gathered people and wondered what had hppened to the others. She wished to wait longer, but knew that they must go now and hope that the remaining few could find them on the road.

"My friends," she said, "we must go. Gather your belongings and meet me outside the inn with your horse in half an hour."

Half an hour later she was outside the inn with her horse, waiting for the others to arrive.

Loravarnion, holding the small elvish girl in hs arms mounted his steed, deep brown was it's colour.
Emerging from the stables after Rothinzil, he followed her lead and waited for the others to sadle up.

Rothinzil looked behind her to see Loravarnion and the elven girl sitting upon a great brown horse.

Her own chestnut mare shuffled slightly as the two horses stood in the street waiting for the others to arrive.

Uoriel quietly slipped out of the inn, anticipation swelling in her. The Quest was beginning! She gathered her articles about her and went to tack up her horse, Elrohir. She led him out in front of the inn and composed herself, ready for the rest to come and join them. Her greeting to Rothinzil and Laranarnion was couteous, yet distant. She still had yet to really know her companions on this journey.

Duramir emerged from the forest by the inn, followed closely by his steed, Aikanáro. He glanced at his companions; he then took a long look down the road.
"The others should hurry to get moving," he said, "I do not like to linger."

Lady Aerowen
October 11th,2002, 01:19 AM
Aerowen, an elven maiden, rode up on her horse, Alearindu to Rothinzil, Laranarnion, and Duramir. She nodded a greeting and smiled slightly. She then averted her green eyes to the road.
"When are we leaving? And where are the others? Aren't they supposed to be here by now?"

Dark Queen
October 29th,2002, 10:39 PM
"We cannot wait any longer," Rothinzil spoke reluctantly after she and the few gathered around her had waited some time, "They must catch up with us. Come, let us go."

With this is encouraged her chestnut mare forward, heading out of town, she turned to the otehrs, and signalled for them to follow her as she rode on.

Lady Aerowen

Aerowen nodded, mounted her steel black horse and followed behind Rothinzil quickly, not knowing exactly where they were going..but hoped the others knew and would meet them there.

Uoriel was not far behind. Elrohir lept into the wind, glad to be off at last, the Rohan blood in him beating to be running. Uoriel kept him to a clip, knowing there was yet far to go.

Mirandor
November 2nd,2002, 01:03 AM
Mirandor, quietly waiting, watching the others in the company rush off on steeds, sliped out of the inn like a shadow, as he was gifted with stealth, and went galloping into the wind after the company on his stead Orethule (fire spirit). Off into the night he galloped at speeds quicker than even the steeds of rohan had seen. All but the majestic horse Shadowfax rode faster than he. He passed the company without notice and was scouting out the land ahead for danger. Many scouts of the Dark queen roamed the land but none were keen enough to detect him.

Lady Aerowen
November 2nd,2002, 01:27 AM
Aerowen thought she sensed a presence a couple of times, but couldn't confirm the thoughts. She decided it was just because of how tense she was that her mind was almost playing tricks on her. Though, just in case, she unsheathed her sword from her belt and kept it in her hand, waiting..

Lady Melody

Morfae as many know her joined the companions without them knowing it. She was ready, as she knew some at the rear end might detect her. Her horse Thalion rode swift, yet silently and she worried not of the ones who follow them from behind. She could dispose of them at her will, but she would not bother. Her intentions are merely her own, she was a friend of Darkstone, and he had requested her to come along for a quest. They had fought together before, and their minds are alike. If they are any in this world that she trusts, then it will be Darkstone. He asked for her aid, and she will aid him.

Dawn had been waiting for the company for three days. They were running later then planned. She doused the fire that had been burning brightly, and mounted her horse, 'Mithrandir'. She scanned the clearing with dark blue eyes, making sure she hadn't forgotten anything. She flipped her black braid over her shoulder, and gently nudged Mithrandir's side. Mithrandir eagerly obeyed her.

Her elven ears had heard a far-off sound on the road, a few yards from the clearing. She carefully rode toward it, keeping in the shadow of the trees.

November 27th,2002, 12:41 AM
from behind her Eruviel, an elven maiden from Mirkwood, rode in swiftly on Roch who blended in with the dark of the night with sword at her side and her bow on her back she spoke to Dawn quietly as to not distract her too much from what she was watching but not taking her cool blue almost gray eyes off the road herslef "I am sorry for the intrusion but I have been watching and I understand you are part of the company. I see they have all gone though I know I am rather late but I have been following them and so ran in to you and am sure you are following them too and with all the evil stirring it might be wise to travel together" Eruviel then nudged Roch and she set off down the path with her dark hair flowing behind her to meet up with the rest.

Dawnnamira Nerwen
November 27th,2002, 04:45 PM
Dawn nodded slighty to the elven maiden behind her, and nudged Mithrandir's side again. He burst forth from the trees, and Dawn could see the company up ahead. She stood in her stirrups, and scanned the surronding area.

Sensing that something was near, but not being able to see it was one of the things that frustrated Dawn the most. She kept her feelings to herself, however.

She rode to the center of the road, and waited for the company to arrive at her position.

Morfae casually looked at Dawn, giving her an amused look.

"It took you this long to detect me, elf?" she said, enjoying toying with her.

"Do not jest with me, [i]human!{/i] I have known you from when you start to tail us!" Dawn said in vehemence.

"Have you not heard of me before? I am of many names, but to many I am called Morfae, and if my mind and wits are about me, yours is Dawn, pleased to meet you," she said in mock courtesy. Dawn would have dearly loved to wipe the smirk off her face.

Dawn's eyes flashed red, an inner fire burning in them. She turned from the female mortal, and dug her heels into Mithrandir's side. He stood, and then Dawn rode him forward, stopping in front of the company.
