I dont know if you have seen this but...

Ian Mckellen said this yesterday..

There is currently a situation where two companies own the rights, but when that's sorted out Peter (Jackson) and I will sit and talk it over. We've mentioned it recently and Peter is looking forward to getting it into production

That is awsome news I think!

PJ probably wouldn't start working on it until 2006 or 2007. He'll probably start Kong the end of 2004 or 2005. It'll probably be released in 2006 (maybe end of 2005, but unlikely). So, then, when Kong is wrapped up (end of 2006 at the very least) he would start The Hobbit. Of course, he could do a little work for the Hobbit while doing Kong, and i mean very little. Like ideas for a cast and script ideas.

Relieved that Ian Mckellen will be in there. He has such a way with Gandalf. Really brings the character to life.

It's nice that SIM will do it if PJ gets the rights. It would seem so wrong otherwise. lol Though he did say he'd want to do if he could before, so it's not surprising.

Ok, I have to admit that I'm not REALLY excited. I'm just glad. I mean, I never thought that the Hobbit was that great, but, when he makes it, I won't hesitate to see it. You know, it's got something to do with LOTR so I'll watch it! hehehehe

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - when i heard this news i literally jumped in the air!
it would be unthinkable to have anyone other than old Sir Ian to play Gandalf, he was truely amazing in the LOTR films, can't wait to see him set fire to those wolves from sitting up a tall tree!
- wow!!!!!!!!!!!
